I don't want to unwittingly break rules. Please help.

I'll explain the situation.

I found a torrent file on my computer from a little while back when I was new to this stuff. A little bit before I learned about boxtorrents. It had the boxtorrents tracker and I never understood why it said ,that out of all the others included, that specific tracker group was private. I removed the torrent and files keeping them separate in case it was updated later.

Later on I found boxtorrents. I became a little more active when it changed to bakabt.
I found the old files and torrent. The file is now packed as one big download along with other files i didn't have. The files I had are the same names and from as far as I can tell the same size. Since I have these files already would I be able to overwrite the files initially downloaded with them?

If there is anything else you need to know just ask. Thanks for any responses.

It doesn't matter where you obtained the files from, as long as they are, in fact, the correct ones.  If they aren't, the torrent will fail a hashcheck and you will redownload the appropriate parts.
