Utorrent Connection Issues
« on: February 07, 2010, 08:39:40 AM »
I had been using Utorrent 1.8.5, but *I thought* it had been blacklisted so I downloaded and installed Utorrent 2.0.

Since it didn't want to install I deleted previous Utorrent files and registry and then installed it.
I have Windows 7 64 bit home edition

I then proceeded to set-up all my setting and I forwarded the port I use for Utorrent, and everything was going good.

But... when I downloaded a few torrents Utorrent won't connect to any Seeds or Peers it just stays at 0(0) and 0(0) for both.. Not seeing anything to help me out I uninstalled and went back to Utorrent 1.8.5. (Seeing how it wasn't black-listed)

After Installing and setting it up, sadly my old configuration is gone because I completely removed it earlier, I re-downloaded the torrents yet it stills stays at 0(0) 0(0) for both seeds and peers.

This was all in the spawn of one day, and I haven't messed with any setting and I have windows firewall disabled. I also don't use any anti-virus programs so that wouldn't be an issue.

Oh, my Isp is at&t and my router 3800HGV-B.

If you need any more information just say.

Edit:

Ok, so I got on another computer at the house, both are hooked up to the same router through Ethernet. i downloaded a torrent and it worked fine.

I then copied all the utorrent files on that computer, the version was 1.8.5, and the registry and copies them over to my computer but I'm still having the same problem.

Oh I don't know if these means anything but every once in a while one of the torrents while connect to 1 peer and immediately go back to 0.

I also tried other bit torrent programs but all seem to be suffering from the same issue, yet I have no clue as to what It could be.

It looks to me more of a computer issue, seeing as it works on one PC but not the other. Have you tried restarting your computer?

Ya someone already told me the problem was with the Nvidia connection manager so I uninstalled it and now everything works fine again.

Thank you though ^.^

I have similar problem, i am new on BakaBT and when i download a torrent and open it in uTorrent (both 1.8.5 and 2.0), it won't connect any peers and seeds, i just see 0(0) for both. I can't try another pc right now, but other trackers, like isohunt, works fine.
I have also Windows 7 64 bit, but... i dont have Nvidia Network Access Manager because i have notebook with AMD chipset and Ati graphic card...

Where do you think could be problem?

Sounds like you need to get port forwarding configured, or get the program unblocked on the firewall. If you see a red exclamation mark in the bottom middle of the uTorrent window, something's wrong.

If you're sure firewalling is disabled for the program and port forwarding is already done, then maybe it's your ISP...

I started having a similar problem a few months ago with my torrent speeds deciding to be slow as hell and uTorrent eating up all of the bandwidth on my network for 6kB/s up and similar down.  uTorrent 2 (I had been using 1.8.x for awhile before that) was working fine for awhile then it hit a wall, so I figure it must have come with an update.  I'm using a modified nVidia .inf so that I can use up to date drivers on my old GeForce 7400Go (ie laptop) but I'm not seeing the nVidia Network Access Manager in my installed program list nor in my registry.  I just switched back to BitTornado (good old reliable client) today since I was fed up and it works just fine.

uTorrent (and BitTornado) give me the green light and I've used their checkers to make sure that my ports are forwarded correctly so that isn't the problem.

Any ideas?

uTorrent 2.0 throttles down sending its packets if it senses heavy traffic in your network.

It may not be good for your downloads but this helps other users in the network.

Been having the exact same problem. I cant connect to any peers/seeds. uTorrent is correctly forwarded in the router, and any torrents from other sites work perfectly, only BakaBT torrents stopped working when I updated from 1.8.5 to 2.0.1
Tried 2.1 (or is it 2.2?) alpha aswell, and same problem.

Don't have nVidia Connectivity Manager listed on programs installed either.

2.0.1 is not on the whitelist. 2.0 is, however.

So can we look forward to 2.0.1 being whitelisted soon, perhaps once it passes muster?
