Making subtitles...

(1/1)

meshugah:
I have downloaded a raw version of Kigurumikku V3 off of Share EX2. It is ripped from the Japanese DVD, and has been upscaled to 1280x720. (It looks fantastic!) However I'd like to try subbing it. I don't read or speak Japanese, so I was planning on just copying the subs from Horriblesubs and the 3rd episode is subbed on Crunchyroll. I need a few pointers on how to make soft subs, and how to get the timing right and stuff. Also the file itself is in mp4 format and have not done much editing/ripping/re-encoding with this type of file. If anyone has any suggestions on what programs to use, it would help me out alot. I'm hoping to post it on BakaBT assuming its allowed.

Chihiro has a short guide posted on their update blog if you're interested.

Southrop:
To summarize the guide:
1. Get Aegisub.
2. Put your lines in Aegisub
3. Load up your video
4. Time the lines to fit the voice.
5. ???
6. PROFIT!

or you could join a group and ask them to do that part for you.
