I vaguely remember watching this but dont really understand what is happening.

(click to show/hide)From what i gather Nagi and his friend was trying to take over the school as they are brawlers and love to fight. They ran into the Natsume sisters, and Nagi fell in love with Maya hence he tries to protect her from the School Committee.

The school they are at happens to be a martial arts school which has for generations been there to gather martial artists.

What i have no clue about is the past chapter where all the flashback started.

Apparently Mitsuomi Takayanagi, Maya, Shin and a couple of other people were good friends in the past but for some reason (someone explain to me what happen here because i have no idea why they started fighting) Mitsuomi starts fighting Shin and kills him.

What was the reason for them fighting?

Maya then broke up with Mitsuomi to seek revenge against him for killing her brother.

That concludes the past arc.

So here's what i dont get, there seems to be a bigger conspiracy behind why Shin and Mitsuomi started fighting, what is it?
Why is there a need for them to kill each other, werent they friends?

Mitsuomi had every chance to kill of Maya and her entire group, why is he allowing them to live?
Why would you stay in a school which is controlled and runned by ure enemy whom u are seeking revenge on?

Is Maya really trying to seek revenge? From her actions, she seem to be having other objectives rather than killing Mitsuomi given that she even flirts around him from time to time.

What is this tournament that they are speaking of? why do u have to wait for a tournament to settle ure score with the person who killed ure brother.

What is the purpose of the tournament?

Lastly, near the end, Mitsuomi kinda betrayed his father's wishes (which i have no idea what it is, explain if possible) for what reason and what is he really seeking?

reason to start the fighting :
(click to show/hide)differences in opinions as to how to menage the school among the issues of one of the guys (don't remember the name) becomming a supersoldier that can precicely take down anyone, but he became a bit failed and every battle he has exerts him to near-death state, his friends have no idea why he did that prcess, he himself belives he knows why, but in fact he doesn't have a clue. there was some killing in the past, one person supposedly died etc but
if you really want to understand this anime story, you should really read the manga, because the majority of information is left out, and there were chapters skipped, generally it's the same problem like with Asura Cryin, not enough information wich is simply wrong to make an anime this way, the anime has a purpose to make the viewer read the manga/ novels in case of Asura Cryin, however, ppl tend to get so annoyed by the lack of sense ppl don't want to read more. altough l hear Asura Cryin novels are a really good read.

as for Tenjou Tenge, l have no clue, l watched the anime twice beliving l missed somthing, but l didn't, it's simply made this way to make viewers read the manga.

hope this helps you in some way.

One of the worst animes i ever saw, not to far away from Gantz. Don't worry, there's no need to understand whats happening...nothing worth knowing happens.

Takeshi:
Funny thing is that my friend loves it. I seriously need to introduce him to greater anime.

please do, save his poor spirit from deterioration.

manganime02:
The anime lost me too around the point where the whole thing transformed to a great big flashback. I remember it just as a crapper version of Ikkitousen.
