Goes in movies of the decade IMO.

I got many hours of gameplay out of MGS4. Just because they have 15 minute cut scenes in between a hour or so of game play doesn't make it a movie. I am in no way a fanboy either it was the first MGS i ever played and i enjoyed it a lot. It you haven't really played it which in my experience is most people who call it a movie(and xbots god i hate fan boys) you need to go play it.

Now if you played it and you still think it was a movie well then okay. Ill make sure to not recommend to many games with cut scenes to you.

You can say MGS was cut scene heavy but a movie it does not make. I guess that's my point.

Ive played MGS, MGS2:SOL, MGS3:SE, and MGS4:GOTP.

The first two had the most gameplay period. There were LONG sections of gameplay mingled in with 15-20 minutes of cinematic.

MGS3:SE Got out of control FAST. You would literally Listen to a 30 minute cutscene, walk across the screen which took you ~20 seconds, and then BAM 30 minute cutscene again.

MGS4:GOTP was FAR too excessive... I mean, when you offer save points, in the middle of your cut scenes so people who may have been playing a little bit before work and didnt realize a 1 hour cut scene was coming up... you are way beyond the edge of acceptable gameplay:cutscene ratio.

Another game with excessive Cutscenes like that was Xenosaga... The initial cut scene in the game was like 20 minutes, and then you had like 10 minutes of gameplay, and then an HOUR of cutscene >.>

Im a fan of story... but come on... excessive cut scene is excessive.

You're exaggerating. I haven't played 4, but I have 3, and other than in the beginning and end I don't remember there being any 30 minute cutscenes, and I definitely don't remember there being more watching than there was playing.

Besides, the codec calls and cutscenes are all completely skippable, and if it's your first time through the game they should keep you plenty entertained anyways. I really don't see what the big deal is.

Game of the Decade for the 90's but not the 2000's, the first MetalGearSolid came out in what? 1998? 1997?Ill give the first one credit for last decade but 2/3/4 which were the 2000's... not so much.

Ixarku:
KOTOR1 on PC was definitely my favorite RPG of all time, and I got more hours out of Morrowind + xpacs than I care to contemplate... I think I got more mileage out of Morrowind than any other game I've ever played, barring WoW.
