Animes that NEED to be made
« on: February 10, 2010, 12:07:30 PM »
Aren't there certain things that would love to see be made into an actual anime e.g. games?

I would love to see animes of:

Evil Zone (the PSX game)
Rival Schools
A PROPER King Of Fighters anime
Rumble Roses (HELL YEAH!)
Dead or Alive (HELL YEAH +2)
Also I think the fans deserve a 2nd season of Berserk (or at least some sort of followup OVA)

Other animes that I think will be cool are Guilty Gear + Bloody Roar.

It be interesting to see certain games made into animes. Xenogears would be at the top of my list. Wouldn't mind seeing Breath of fire 3, but Ryu would still not be allowed to talk in such an anime. Silent protagonist rule is sacred u know =P

I reckon a series of books called "The Elenium" (The Diamond Throne, The Ruby Knight, The Sapphire Rose) would go over big as an anime, with it's sister set "The Tamuli" (Domes of Fire, The Shining Ones, The Hidden City) as a second series.

The books in question are written by David Eddings and are rather good, in my humble opinion.

I've read them several times over and I can almost 'see' the characters and 'hear' them when I read the books.

You forgot to mention the Redemption of Althalus and The Belgaried + Malloreon series. You can't just do the sparhawk books and leave out his other two/three major works =P

So I'm not the only person who ever read David Eddings books lol. Used to be a coder/guild master for the MUD game for the Belgariad and Mallorean as well.

As I'm replaying this game right now, I would LOVE to see an anime, a game sequel, or even a freaking movie based on The Legend of Dragoon. One of my all time favorite games and would look awesome as an anime.

No, I didn't forget them, I just figured 'the sparhawk' books would have a bigger audience, due to Sparhawk being in them.

Since you mentioned it, "The Redemption of Althalus" would make a rather good Anime, wouldn't it.

A 'bad guy' who becomes a 'good guy', a goddess who likes to get around in cat form, yeah that would score a few points with people.  :D

FYI, I actually own all of the mentioned books and so far I've managed to read them all at least 4 times (at a guess) since I got them.

I've read the Belgariad and Mallorean, too, for the first time about 16 years ago or so.  At some point, I just lost interest in Eddings; although I've got copies of the Elenium and the Tamuli sitting on my bookshelf, unread, I have no motivation to read them.

Admittedly, though, the Belgariad / Mallorean has potential to be a good anime.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

Trying to think of cool ideas.
I think it would be cool to see an anime set in the white wolf gaming universe.
The art style would work i think.

Having western media turned anime would be weird, but something interesting to track.

Imagine stuff like Narnia and LOTR or POTC. Not that I actually think they're amazing media... but it'd be interesting and funny to watch.

I have heard that Berserk will be back in animated form sometime. Second post in this thread: http://www.skullknight.net/forum/index.php?topic=10632.100 Some speculate that we may see a new series when the manga finishes which is 75% complete (At least a few years from now).

you have my vote for both, they are so damn amazing, not having an anime version of this is a crime, seriously, Square Enix should be severly punished by now

Heh, I don't think it would be any stranger than some of the things I've seen in various anime.

As a for instance, in "Ah! My Goddess" they refer to the "World Tree" or Yggradrasill which is right out of Viking Mythology, along with the wolf 'Fenrir'.

It was quite weird for me when it finally got through my skull just what they were talking about!

There are a couple of other anime which have references to, for want of a better word, 'western mythology', but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

i would love to see the following get a great anime rendering.  i nominate Madhouse Studios for production.

manga:
Sanctuary (a full 26 episode series not the poor 2 shot ova from the 90's)
Strain
Blame!
Arm of Kannon (how the hell hasn't this been animated yet?)
Tezuka's Apollo's Song / Adolf / Midnight / Vampires

books:
Sandman by Neil Gaiman (i would die to see a spectacular 20+ episode series by Madhouse)
Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson
Neuromancer by William Gibson
Slow River by Nicola Griffith
"Death is certain. Time is uncertain."

I think there was some psychology references or like Russian kings or something in School rumble. (Names of the animals) But I don't fully remember.

References are one thing, but a whole anime based on those... totally weird.

An Anime of 20th Century Boys would be spectacular. I didn't particularly care for the movies, but the manga was awesome. An faithful anime adaption by Madhouse of 20CB would hopefully be a lot better.

Final Fantasy 7, no really...with the right budget and studio, this could be a really good 26/52ep action romp.

The FF Unlimited anime makes me cry inside.

I would love to see a Final Fantasy VI anime using the same animation used in Mononoke, VII would be a good watch too if handled properly.
