Hmm I read somewhere it will only be dx9 at release. To "later" be dx11.
If I am not mistaken, DirectX 9 is easier to run than DirectX11, right? My understanding of the term is that for games certain graphics are available, where they aren't for DX9?

Can't say I'm hoping they'll release a DX11 version, can barely run the DX9 version at the moment. At least leave up to us to choose DX9 or DX11 in the options...

As in a re-release or patch?

In a patch.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

I don't care about nVidia or Intel crap boxes for that matter, show me AMD and ATI results.

Well, I don't care about both AMD and ATI, since they bug with a few NFS game, that's their epic fail for me, being a NFS fan. :D

Fuck, it's still evened out, isn't it? (Yes, I got an Intel CPU and an ATI GPU)

EDIT: Has no one here bought the game? I just got it today and... HOLY CRAP... the game is freakin awesome! (Especially the multiplayer too!)

I got it. It unlocked for me last night at midnight. Bad timing since I needed to prepare for a meeting the next morning, did manage to squeeze in a few hours of game time. ;D

It's...well, I can run it with lowest on everything with 30-40 fps, a lot of stuff just doesn't work as good as Call of Duty. FOV was bad until I manually adjusted it, sensitivity while aiming down your sight was way too sensitive compared to the sensitivity while just walking, FOV while running is fine though. Then there's the piece-of-shit system that is leaning. Why implement it? I don't need to lean, I've learned to do it manually throughout the years playing Call of Duty. Apparently, it was in Crysis too, didn't really notice it though.

Honestly, the PC is like bad, very bad compared to the PC versions of Crysis and Crysis Warhead. A lot of features which are associated with PC gaming are removed. Hell even Resident Evil 5 had more graphic settings. Autosave or autoload isn't even available. And an option to disable motion blur isn't even there, I've seen several people getting headaches due to that feature.

The graphics are beautiful though, too bad I can't run a 1280x720 res to take advantage of my entire screen.

All in all, Crysis 2 doesn't deserve the hype it got, I can't say I'm enjoying it like other games. Disappointment of the year so far.

Take your GPU flamewar somewhere else. Even thou I am an nVidia and Intel person for their advanced technologies, stay ontopic in the meanwhile please.

I mean, I'm running it on my PS3, I havn't really gotten any real framerate issues... but I have noticed a pop in here and there. Over all though, the game is terrific fun.

so is the PC version just a port from the console ?
not again :\
I wish all the energy spent on the hype making was redirected at the game itself.

I'm a terrible player at FPS.  All I wish for is a mode for Chrysis of computer player vs computer player and then I can run it just to watch.  I would be quite satisfied as an "armchair fighter" watching the bling.  Games with that mode sell themselves to me.

I doubt it Havoc. Anyways, the game was just cracked few hours ago (in less than 48 hours of release). I can't find my first Crysis game and Warhead edition. -rages- WHERE ARE THEY?

Well, I'm using my laptop where advanced graphics settings would be most useful.

Sure, people with powerful rigs have no problem whatsoever, and actually complain that DirectX11 isn't being used (yet), but the only reason Crysis 2 is running this bad for me is that there's no options for configuring graphics...

Acer Aspire 7540G
AMD Athlon II X2 M300 2.0 GHZ
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
4 GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium 64x

Hahahahahahahaha... no it was definitely made for PCs. I would even think to say that it's the best looking Xbox 360 game to date... but the PS3 suffers a little bit behind the 360 version (and the PC version is bar none, the best looking PC game to date).

Multiplayer, I will say, is JUST as fun as MW2 and/or Halo: Reach, if not more fun. If they would of added a forge or gmod type tool (cause the physics engine is really good as well), this would be one of the best online shooters of this generation.

A lot of multi-platform games on the PS3 don't look very well. The exclusives are far better than, if anything, all multi-platforms. If it gets released on PC, I usually go for the PC version. Otherwise, I stick to the PS3.

I'm anxious to see how good the game is on PC. Few more hours and we'll see.

No, it was definitely developed with consoles in mind. PC graphics being better is only better because PC hardware are miles ahead of the outdated console hardware. If it was truly for PC, then we would have gotten a way more different release from the one we got. A much better one.

It doesn't take a genius to see that consoles made Crysis 2's graphics settings...
