If you get cable - see if you can get your hands on a business grade line. It's a little bit extra - but - the support, the equipment, the speed - everything is bounds better.
If they say you need to be a business - say you're a telecommuter with vpn - and the residential line won't cut it for the vpn - you need a dedicated reliable connection, you're willing tp pay more. ( Or just whip up a "home business" doing something or another. )
Then - when ya got the business cable - complain complain complain!
The connection where I am was shitty - I complained like mad for a while, and they found the line problems. Fixed them - now the connection is the best I've ever had.
If you're a regular residential though - you'll NEVER get anywhere with support. On the business lines - you connect right to a tier 2 support on your first call. They don't have the cardreading morons working for their support.
