I think the point of that was more to show him doing exactly what Mihawk did to Don Krieg's ship in Sanji's introduction arc.
I know having one eye is kind of badass, but with only one eye, Zoro should have lost his depth perception. Which would be crucial to a swordsman, of course unless Zoro no longer needs his eyes to fight.

Aye, Franky is kind of ugly now. Which is a shame since he was awesome-looking in the 10th movie.
