windows 7 disk

today i bought a copy of windows 7 home premium and my dvd drive wont boot the cd. pretty sure theres nothing wrong with the drive because i use it all the time any suggestions would be appreciated. when i put the cd in its almost like i never did. and when i go to my computer to try to run it that way its telling me to insert a disc

Have you tried another disc since?

I tried everything from a movie to a data dvd and they all work fine. than i assumed it was the disk but i put it into another computer and it read the disk fine

Have you tried booting from the disc?

Are you sure you aren't trying to boot a 32bit system with a 64bit copy of windows?

Since you've been able to read the disc on another system, use that system to create a bootable flash drive.  You might just have a problem with your DVD drive.

It would be helpful to know if you had a DVD rom drive perhaps. Otherwise, sdedalus83 is probably right :)
