Completing Installation
GoGeTa006:
so this nasty toshiba laptop i have sitting besides me has been acting up.
It didnt have internet (network said it was fine, I pinged goolge using cmd, tried doing static ip. . .nada!) even tried connecting it trough ethernet cable.
I decided to wipe it all and do a clean restart. booted from disc, formated drive, install windows, restart computer. . .
windows is getting ready to start for the first time
completing installation. . .
. . .
. . .
(hours)
. . .
so I shut it down manually. start in safe mode, starts loading everything. . .stops.
restarted everything reinstalled. . .same thing (and its not frozen. . .you can try to cancel and it will tell you "you cant cancel")
so. . .I tought maybe ill install windows 7 instead.
Its been stuck in 14% for 15 minutes now. . .WTF!? this thing doesnt want anything installed on it or what?
is it the hard drive probably? anyone got any ideas as to why this would happen?

Run a full diagnostic on the disk and then get back to us with the results. There are compilation disc images, like UBCD, which have dozens of diagnostic programs for everything in a typical PC. Just burn, boot and run.
DaggerLite:
Try this and see if there is an error on your hard disk. Do you have two of them?

Mobo? My laptop did that before. Though... it froze at a different point consistently.

i dont know i think it was something with. . .something. . .i opened it up and closed it back down. . .basically i just unplugged and replugged everything(on sight). . .now it has windows 7 :)
you know. . .take out the keyboard. . .and take out the ram and pull out as many little not-soldered-joints and then re connect them . . .
