[Poll] - Endless delays in entertainment and tech.
« on: February 21, 2010, 07:09:03 PM »
We've known about them for years and the producers have mercilessly teased us with release dates that have come and gone, sometimes without so much as an update.  With all of these products slated for a 2010 release, which has inflicted the most pain?  Which do you think is most likely to make it this year?  And which one do you think will end up on next year's list, joining AMD's Bulldozer, The Last Guardian, Diablo III, and Half Life 3/2 Episode 3?

Fermi. I've got a grand in my savings account with Nvidia's name on it if they would just hurry the hell up.

Actually, even though you mention it for next year's list I would say the next Half-Life. Episode 2 came out in Oct 2007, that's a long time! Though I've been wanting something like Black Mesa so now I want that to come out as well! Damn it!

Fuck how long was it from when they announced it and when it came out (FF13).

But seriously how long does it take to make a strategy game(Starcraft 2) that has 70% of the same units and most of the same game mechanics as the first one(even the graphics are simple).

Quantum computing.

... Or the i9 will do for now, I suppose.

And, tbh, I don't see that WinMo 7 will make much of a difference over 6.5... Or 6, for that matter.  Hardware support, maybe....

Project Offset.  It seems like they have been less productive ever since they got acquired by Intel.

A Dance with Dragons

I love the series, and I certainly don't want the author rushing a book of crap out the door, but I wish he would be honest with himself when he is being interviewed and not get people's hopes up.

You might want to research a bit further before stating any comments on that.

WOW! my exaggeration was off by about 20%.

Its much of the same game with a new gloss on it. It is going to be Sweet when it does come out but.

It's called Starcraft 2.  What the fuck did you expect?  Nobody would want to buy it if it didn't play like Starcraft.

To the DNF comments - It died in a different millennium for fuck's sake.  Please stop beating petrified horse remains.
