[Poll] - Endless delays in entertainment and tech.

DNF died the moment Broussard saw Half Life and realized that his dream of creating the benchmark beside which all others would forever be compared had been destroyed. The string of awesome games at the end of the last decade, like Half Life, System Shock 2, and Deus Ex were all obviously far beyond what he had ever imagined and his ego wouldn't let him release a game which would be described as merely fun and raunchy.
Had someone with a brain been present back in 2000 when they were working on what they showed at E3 '01 and had said, we're releasing it like this, so finish it up in a hurry, then DNF would have been an awesome PC shooter of the early PS2 era. Since nobody at 3D Realms has a brain, everybody else involved in the project pulled out by early 2002.
DNF took a fatal bullet to the brain in November '98 and was in a coma and on life support until 2002 when the plug got pulled. Everything on DNF since then has been the work of delusional people running around with an increasingly rotten corpse, screaming "It's alive! It's alive!".

The Duke Nukem franchise is still alive, but DNF is dead for the foreseeable future.

The sooner fermis start rolling out the cheaper all the other cards will get and the sooner I can upgrade my rig :).
As for DNF I wouldn't wait too long on it. I haven't heard about any stunning new gameplay developments outside of the fact that Duke's cigar will have a higher poly count.
Now that Starcraft II Beta is up and about I suppose it'll be out sometime this year. I'll probably run through Starcraft 1 with cheats just to refresh my memory of the story. I hope there will be as many user created maps as there were in WC3 and SC.

In all honesty, I just forget all games and when something comes out, I go "Hey look, that's cool! That can be a replacement!"
Though there's no announcement anywhere, I'm still waiting on a good horror game. One with great graphics and smooth game play and one that actually makes you jump a hell of a lot. One we can proudly call, "So scary you'll shit your pants if you're not careful."
PSX and PS2 had a few close ones... but the game play was really choppy and annoying. (Stupid controls) But was genuinely something at times that kept you on the tip of your toes for hours on end.
Closest to bringing something like this was RE4 for Wii and Doom 3. Made you jump had smooth controls but not "shit your pants scary". They just bundled up too much of the stuff at the beginning and never had "new tricks" late in the game. (Save for RE4, those fucking invincible parasite ones are crazy and AWESOME! It was something that could corner you if you weren't careful, something REALLY hard to beat without being a boss, but not some asshole char that would show up and rape you to hell in seconds)
But yeah, not a delay... but still something I'm really waiting on.
Diablo 3
SC2
I've mostly forgotten those two by now... Torchlight or w/e that game was called was a fun demo to keep my mind of Diablo 3 though.
