Making end game available to everyone is a good idea. I wouldn't want to buy a game if I wouldn't be able to "finish" it. If you want more challenge, Up the difficulty setting, me and my guild are working on them and they're Very hard.

WoW is not hard. WoW = gear. Gear = skill. If you have gear you can complete any raid encounter. It's impossible to be good at wow, all you need is gear and an IQ above the threshold of retardation so you can memorize this week's boss gimmick.

Overall the "perfect" MMORPG for me is one I can play casually and for free. I really prefer pencil and paper games.

which P&P do you play again? If my memory serves me right D&D 4th Ed? Ever heard about fantasy grounds? It's an online platform for p&p rpg where you can upload your character sheets, get icons for your chars, can roll animated dice and the gamemaster can upload interactable maps... nice gimmick if you live in a small town where you can't really find yourself a group or happen to be stationed on a ship (;) ) but I guess you can find enough bored sailors for a permanent group where you are ^^

I have to agree here.

WoW was much better when endgame wasn't available to everyone.

A very wise man once said, "It's better to travel well than to arrive."

Which brings me to my point about what the perfect mmo should have.  The end game should feel as if you're progressing through it.  You shouldn't ever feel like you have to finish the game/do all the end content.

Though, my personal perfect mmo only has to have bearable gameplay and a kickass group of people to play with...  Because I play mmo's to have fun with others.
