The best MMORPG is one with a HUGE user base.

Going back to WoW soon to prepare for Cataclysm.  Part of the reason for leaving was because of the loss of many online friends.  There's an exodus on my lowly populated server to move to more popular ones (including better raiders).  So when I return I'll transfer to the same server my Sis and some RL friends play.  Also one of the most crowded PvP server.

It's funny that we all started together, but it was really crowded then with long queues.  And we ended up going our separate ways while seeking new servers.  To once again return to a crowded one realizing that getting in a queue once in awhile is worth it.
