I find myself only playing in hardcore servers. Normal servers seem watered down to me; there's something unsatisfying about shooting someone withe an m24 in the chest and they shake it off and walk away before I've reloaded. But the downside of hardcore means a lot of the unlocks are pretty useless.
Agreed. It is a totally different game on HC. Some things have no use at all, such as the sniper ball that spots enemies, doesn't work on most HC servers. Not being able to see where people that just died are without bringing up the full map makes it hard to revive them and so on. Generally it does give a better experience due to the higher weapon damage. The two first shotguns feels a bit worthless. :/
The shotguns - I just love. I'm a monster with the 870.
Though, I played Engineer in BF2 just because I loved the shotgun so much - it's a 1 shot 1 kill weapon if you handle it right. The key is - do it right. I see too many people complaining about it ... and how it "sucks" and such - it doesn't suck at all.
It's a close quarter weapon - they're shooting too far off. Plus, you can't use it on every map - patience and practice.
Saiga though - I hate that thing. It's a crappy shotgun.
M60 though - that thing I just hate. Sure - I can use it as a full auto fully accurate M95 all over the place ( you know it is ) - but it makes the game too easy, it's a bastard weapon.
My favorite thing though, so far - is the pp2000 - lol - love destroying people with that, especially grenade launcher guys - dodge their grenade and "Oops ... I think you missed me" soon as I get them to lay down.
Nother weapon I'm starting to like - the short sniper rifle - 98 special I think -
Toss a red dot on that thing and magnum ... omg ... it's brutal. It's like what Assault kit should have been.
