One time I didn't have a pencil for class. My teacher keeps a bucket of pencils for people to borrow if they forget one. Since I didn't have a pencil, I would need one for the rest of the school day instead of just that one class, so I asked if I could give it back tomorrow instead of at the end of class. The teacher say "Okay, make sure you bring it back tomorrow." and for some reason, no purposely, I said "Hai." At that time I wasn't thinking about anything Japanese related, and I don't even know that much of the language so I don't know why it came out that way. She replied, in a confused tone "Huh?" and I just said "I will." and walked to my seat.

happens to me often... Then the next thing I hear is the whole class laughing at me.. the word Hai in  Finnish language means Shark... and the funny thing is that we pronounce the word hai (doesn't matter if Japanese meaning or Finnish) in the same way...

lol, i have to seriously restrain myself from responding in japanese. i watch so much anime, it almost feels natural to say things like arigatou and gomenasai. its the worst when i go shopping, cuz after i pay, i want to say arigatou to the person at the register.

I've actualy done thatas well xD The person at the registrer was like wtf. I left the place and fast... Also I normaly say ''Kiitos'' (means Thank You) at the register anyways...
Also I sometimes miss-hear Japanese as Finnish
Example why:
Digimon 02 1st ED, Japanese
Digimon 02 1st ED, Finnish
MAinly pay attention for the 1st few words... Not funny if you're sleepy...

JoonasTo:
Japanese has a few catchy words, like Hai and Tjana(the see ya one). If the language you're talking has longer counterparts they are more easily replaced.

@mAh: ROFL! That's a great one.  ;D

I'm either sitting cross legged or slouched like I'm trying to lie down on a chair. Usually I like to tilt the chair either to the side and rest my arm over the back of the chair or tilt the chair 180 degrees and sit with legs open. I've stopped doing the latter 'cuz I think I look like a child trying to show off, but really I just feel more comfortable in that position. I almost always lean on one side or the other of the chair, most of the times the chair would have handles so I don't fall off the side or something.

Oh god, I am the same. It has gotten to the point that if I am involved in an activity that requires me to keep my back straight (ice skating, kendo), I have trouble doing it for more than 15-20 minutes.

--- End quote ---

If i attempt to sit straight for more than 30 minutes my butt goes numb, followed by never ending bone strain.. Just ain't possible.
--- End quote ---

Hey, you guys that have this problem... Do you have little butts? I ask because I've heard something similar and I think it's caused from sitting on your spine. If that's the case, it should be better if you sit on like a really soft leather chair... is it?

Personally, I don't have the problem... but I have a whooty like JLo.  :P

I'm 20 and I can't ride a bike yet either. I'm a little scared to start now, I think I'll look retarded falling over on a bike at this age...
