Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (Dual Audio version)
« on: March 07, 2010, 10:50:47 AM »
I'd like to request a dual audio version of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2

Please do not confuse it with season 1 or the single audio versions of season 2, there is no dual audio version of the second season (R2) on BakaBT
There is however a DVD and HD version of it, so there is nothing to stop this being uploaded here.

There are two dual audio version:
Z-Z ~320mb/ep, 720x400 16:9, 23.976 fps H264/AVC ~1000 kBit/s, 2.0 Stereo AC3 (448 kBit/s) Jap and 2.0 Stereo MP3 CBR (320 kBit/s) End audio, 2 VOBSUBs (i guess one is Signs & Songs)
JFS ~360mb/ep, 720x400 16:9, 23.976 fps H264/AVC ~1000 kBit/s, 2.0 Stereo AC3 (448 kBit/s) Jap and 2.0 Stereo MP3 CBR (320 kBit/s) End audio, 2 VOBSUBs (i guess one is Signs & Songs) + Lithuanian ASS/SSA subs
Here is an AniDB Link

The only differences (from the stats) is that JFS is 40mb bigger per episode and has Lithuanian subs, strangely everything else is exactly the same (i checked several episodes)

I'm assuming the JFS release is just the Z-Z release with added Lithuanian subs...

That's what i thought as well, but Lithuanian subs don't take up 40 MB, Do they ?

After a quick search, I'm going to say I don't care for the Z-Z release. I'm voting on waiting for OZC.

800-1000mb per episode is a lot, even if it is 1080p

I vote for having both an SD and a HD version, just like season 1

After doing more searching, I want to know how Z-Z completed the series in 2009 when the 4th DVD volume was only just released a few days ago hasn't been released (see below)?

I doubt Z-Z's is a real R1 DA release, so no, we're not taking it unless proven otherwise.

Oh look. http://forums.bakabt.me/index.php?topic=22527.0

edit2:
Amazon lists Vol. 4 as an April 6th release.

March 2nd release was delayed to April 6th, so Amazon is right.

edit4:
OZC does have a 720p version, right? Their website seems to indicate so (MU links) but I can't check (MU banned HK)

That's a good question, it might not be an R1 release, maybe he combined the TVrips English audio with the Jap DVDRip
Only Z-Z himself could answer that for sure.

But i know that back on Demonoid he always waited for each DVD to be released

Yeah, I'm aware of Z-Z's reputation of DVD ripping, which is why I find this weird. In any case, I remember in the past reading something about TV audio rips muxed onto DVD raws and we have rejected them in the past, so if this proves to be the case for this Z-Z release, it's a no-go here.

I agree, but then that means that JFS is in the same boat.

Seeing how Demonoid is under maintenance. I remember ZZ saying that he got the audio from other release and video from Thora release and combined together. The reason he did was there was loads of fan asking for Code Geass R2.

Well the only Eng Audio version he could have taken the audio from is C_P which is a TVrip

Funny that he did that rip for the fans and never got to upload it.

So i guess i'll have to wait for a proper DVDrip to be released. :(

Why do you mean by he did not upload it?. It is right here.

[links removed]

I took the English audio from the TV version and resynced it the Japanese DVD version. Subtitles by Eclipse. I retimed the subs, added a default set of subs for the opening and closing, filtered out the hissing and background noise for better sounding audio, and increased the file size for better quality.

Not thora then. Sorry.

Apparently i didn't look for it hard enough.  ;D

Thanx for the links though.

But if it's not a proper DVDRip then i'll have to wait.

Anyone know when the final R1 DVD is released ?

He did upload it on Demonoid. That is only place where he uploads.

Yup even iam waiting for the dvdrip.

The final episodes are going to be released on April 6, 2010. It was supposed to be released on March 2, 2010 but was delayed.

Bandai sure love to keep delaying but their quality is top notch.

Yeah, EZ8 will have the 720p version of R2's last 6 episodes out shortly after I get the 1080p versions out. Now if Bandai would just ship the DVD's, I could finish the damn thing...

I had Z-Z's myself before, simply because I couldn't wait for the official R1 dvd's to be released. I recall that the later episodes had some syncing issues at parts in the english which I didn't like. Video Quality also wasn't all that great relative to the what have already on the site.

Nonetheless, I loved the fact that it was dual audio so that I could finish the series in english without it tormenting me (sorta like 00 is doing right now :) ).

I have the Z-Z version. I thought the quality was actually really good. He always has really good releases.

I don't know about any of that technical stuff though.  :P
