Why do people use Google Chrome?

"Mammon slept. And the beast reborn spread over the earth and its numbers grew legion. And they proclaimed the times and sacrificed crops unto the fire, with the cunning of foxes. And they built a new world in their own image as promised by the  sacred words, and spoke of the beast with their children. Mammon awoke, and lo! it was naught but a follower."

Without the initial success of Firefox, there would be no Chrome or Safari. Opera would still be around, but it would still be forced identify itself as IE.

:D

In all honesty, I was always aware of Opera. In the past I tried it and never ever liked it over FF.

Chrome and Safari and Opera (9.9X or w/e it was) were the first webkits I tried for both a replacement for FF for temporary use as well as IE as the backup. Which was due to the memory leak issues from FF back in the day. My frustration with that caused me to look into other browsers. Safari was the one that actually made me feel paranoia that my information was being collected while chrome ironically made me feel like, "Meh, I don't care". Opera was similar to chrome except for the fact it was so "cluttered" with drop down boxes and everything up the wazoo unlike chrome and safari which have a very clean "top area". For this reason alone, Opera did not stand out against chrome and was eliminated. Safari and Chrome were left. Safari's "where you've been" feature "would you like to go here" feature really made me paranoid. I had it on another laptop and let this one child I know use it. Even after cleaning out cookies, I could easily figure out what he had done on that browser AND the damn thing would immediately (even without cookies) ask me stuff like, "Oh, saw you liked going on some flash based game site. Wanna try this other one?" It really gave me the vibes of a creepy uncle trying to get you to try alternatives until finally when you weren't looking, he'd attack and molest you. That's the reason why I chucked out safari and settled with chrome.

But in all seriousness, if you don't want people to know what you use your computer for.... there's always:

Ctrl + Shift + P for FireFox.

Chrome is currently fastest browser. I personaly use Mozilla Firefox and Opera. I tried Chrome and i noticed it is faster than FireFox or Opera but i didn't like it, it crashed once...

Crimson13:
I use Chrome AND Firefox, i prefer neither one over the other.

Uh. Some of my friends use Chrome because it's... "cute". Yep they're girls. And they also say that it's faster and everything else. Well maybe.
I tried it once but found nothing spectacular.
From the very beginning I use Opera and it's not looking like I'm going to change my browser of choise sometime soon.
