I'm sure you've also grown tired of the game freezing on you :P

Anyone else had that problem or is McDincht just unlucky?

I've hit the point now, where I am bored of this game, and I'm not so far off completing it I think.

Spending an hour or so in a dungeon-esque area, doing the same 'missions' over and over entailing the killing of said monster in order to progress to the next level is repetitive and boring... it suddenly dawned on me that the entire game was based around that.

Seriously, take away all playability of this game ( mashing the x button and L1 now and then ) and it's a CG film...  walk, fight, cutscene, walk, fight, cutscene ...

I'm not impressed with the game as a whole, as a final fantasy title anyway. I feel that this game could easily have been named something else as the only feel for 'final fantasy' that I get from it so far is talk of crystals and the rare chocobo that is seen.

...and FFS since why is the AI retarded enough not to throw a phoenix down on the main character instead of simply crouching down alongside the main character as if their whole existence depends on their living.

Sorry Square Enix but this is a flop in my opinion, visually stunning and definitely worth a play but I feel kind of insulted that we waited so long for this.

I'm at the end of chapter 11. I'm going back and getting as many missions done as I can and trying to get a 5 star rating.

[edit] On the subject of being linear, some have said that all FF games are linear. However, they usually allow for a certain degree of freedom. This game is to RPGs as rail shooters are to FPS (one where you can move around like Halo).

It's quite disappointing to see so many people dislike this game. Not in you, but in Square Enix. I loved Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX, and if you did too then there's a good chance I might dislike this game as well. Hell, I bought all three games for PSP, and am currently looking into throwing the screen up on my TV. Not sure where to get such accessories yet.

The whole "more-cutscenes-instead-of-gameplay" does not sound good. I like the "one-button-kills" in God of War where the enemy becomes so weak that you can finish him off with a few buttons pushed correctly. But I don't want less gameplay. Have Square Enix explained why they did what they did? I do think it would be great to see features that would only be able to work on a PS3, but this...

A PS3 Slim is currently at $416 in Denmark. I'm probably gonna wait a bit more or until I get some more money. I bought my PS2 at $333 back in the days.

Why they did it? Well, in general, each FF game has a different system so I'm assuming they are just experimenting. Like when they used the CTB system in X, although, in my opinion, that turned out well.

Geez buzz seems pretty negative here.

I enjoyed the game, it was pretty much what I expected it to be. The combat was fun and different(though it gets a bit dull but what RPG doesn't),the music was great and I enjoyed the story which seemed up to par which what I've come to expect from the Final Fantasy Series( not the best but not the worst).

Perhaps I was a bit underwhelmed since I have waited so long for it, but I still played the hell out of it and liked it better than FF12.

Graphics were good, CG was amazing and the boss fights were the best battles.

8/10 for me =/

Random statement: I was pissed to find out you couldn't fight the Titan...that's just antagonizing to put him in the backdrop and when I saw him I was like "I'm going to kill that", then later find out you can't...at least FFXII had crazy...very crazy hunts.

LOL that Titan is way too big to fight.  The thing picks up an Adamantoise with one hand and eats it and the Adamantoise itself easily dwarfs the party.

If I'm not mistaken a lot of bosses in final fantasy's are 'big' ... I don't see why you wouldn't be able to even if you had to do it stage by stage.

By "Titan" you guys are talking about the gaint two legged walking pile of semi-molten rock, right? You don't get to fight that thing?! Thats bull shit! True, I can't even fight an adimatortis right now (unless its a baby), but still, hasn't one of the great things in FF games been some bad ass boss that doesn't actually need to be killed?

When I first saw that thing I literally said "oh my fucking God" while thinking "I'm going to have to fight that". I'm more disappointed than before.

Does the game at least have Weapons (You know, Ultima, Omega, Ruby, Emerald, etc.)?

Ozma was a push over (a simple beat down killed him and the party was, maybe, lvl50). Almost as easy as Omega was in...X I think.

The Shaolong Gui denfinately looks formidable. Worthy of an end game optional boss.

Really? I never got to beat Ozma. I always got killed before being able to deal some real damage to him. I beat one of the Weapons in FF8, but none in FF7.

I've pretty much burnt myself out of the game, being nearly finished with all of the trophies/achievements to unlock Serah's theme. Seriously, having to own one of every item is a serious pain in the ass. It doesn't help that the Long Gui/Shaolong Gui's rarely drop the ingot/nuggets, even with the catalogs. Getting the 4m+ I need to do the weapons is aggravating.

I was very impressed with the game as a whole though, despite the linearity. Absolutely loved the ending! Probably tied for my second favorite of all the FF games.

Ive really enjoyed playing the game, it even gets quite frustrating at some of the later missions mainly 45 and up. The combat system seems too easy until you have to fight some of the harder bosses that force you to watch for boss moves that require you to switch out  a lot. The main storyf bosses were all cake walks then you run into neochu and attacus in the missions and then you want to bang your head against the wall for a while. Not the hardest of games but its far form terrible.

Not sure if it was just me but the first fight with Barthandelus was a pain in the ass, and yea the tortoise thing's (the two listed earlier) are supposed to be a pain also, but I never spent that much time on the game, just beat it and did a few hours of quests.

titan is too epic to fight. they might be able to fight titan's little finger and win, but it would be extremely close match =P
