Wait, this is a RPG where you can't change your party? But it has 6 "playable" characters listed.Guess you'll use them in touch with the story, which at least be superfucktastic, since I'm considering the CE.I also consider the AvP CE,since it's so amazing, but that's another story.Damn,I should've waited another 3 days for that awesome Batman AA CE.

The first part of the game first i dunno 10 hours or so  is very story driven Ie the party is set because even though there are like 6 characters they arent always fighting in the same spot / same time after that it becomes more open and you can change some stuff.

Buy it, but wait for the price to drop. It isn't worth $60 (or however much it is in your area).

It's 60$ here as well, though only at "private retailers".In the store,it's 100$.I thought to buy it after a while, maybe when it reaches Platinum, which shouldn't take long considering 5m units have been shipped.
We don't have a Gamestop/Bestbuy in Romania.

maybe you should try ordering it from the uk. idk for me living in austria it is really worth it - at least if you make an order with some friends (to reduce the shipping costs..). i would have to pay 55€ (~75$) for ff13 if i buy it here or ~35€ (~48$) if i order it from the uk..

Ive enjoyed it very much so, English Ps3 release owner here.

I have two complaints... Vanille's voice acting... and the fact you get next to NO back story.

I have only played for a few hours but they have given some of the back story at a latter part of the game. Maybe they will keep giving it a little bit at a time as the game progress'. Also if you read the entries in the datacom thing there is alot of info about stuff that has happened there (it also updates as story goes on with more backstory info). Combat gameplay kinda reminds me of persona 3 for those of you that have played it where you only control the main toon and the others are controled by ai based on what you select as there tactic. Its a little different than I expected but so far it has worked out pretty good. Im so glad I own a ps3 though to play this on I would not want to have to play it on a 360.

well, the backstory I was looking for, and its not even in the Datalogs, is "WHY" Sanctum and Pulse are/were at war... WHY l'Cie are "evil", I am in chapter 7 atm in Hope's house with his father, and none of this has been relayed information. So far the only reason I know why l'Cie are being hunted is because Sanctum wants them to be... but there is no WHY behind it, no hints of fear, or propaganda that l'Cie are demons or something... I mean, Sanctum has Fal'Cie too... Sanctum's Fal'Cie creates l'Cie as well, why are all l'Cie deemed to be Pulse's agents of doom?

What sparked the war between Pulse and Sanctum? What reason do these factions have to fight one another?

The only thing I have "accepted" about this is that, like in a lot of Japanese stories, things are just constants... there is no WHY... there just IS. Which I can accept that, but... I still would like to know more... kinda flushing out the environment ya know?

But, in the games defense of what im complaining about... its not NEEDED... the story is progressing perfectly fine, and from what ive seen/played through I understand what is going on with the characters I am playing, and their place in the world. I may not understand the entire big picture with the elements missing that I listed above, but hey... its a game about a group of people on an adventure to survive and save Coccoon and Serah, so far the story has done an excellent job of that.

I've played for like 3 hours now and am in Chapter 2 and so far I'm really enjoying where it's headed :)

I'm liking the Paradigm system. Graphics are astounding. The amount of prerendered footage surpasses expectations (25GB BluRay ftw) and I'm seriously liking Lightning for not being a lame character. Snow's cool, Hope is an Emo, Vanille is st00pid as shit and Sazh is a bit boring. Looking forward to the sassy Aussie Fang.

So far I'm enjoying myself, I'm a big fan of the series and I did in fact enjoy FFXII. I'm liking the combat system but the Character Development (Chrysantium?) still needs some work. Hopefully that gets more interesting as the game progresses...

Private retailers,as I said.Maybe I should explain it.Some guys get PS3/Xbox games from their sources, and sell it here at 2/3 of the price for "hot" releases, like Heavy Rain or FFXIII.For older releases, the prices can even go under 30$.
Not my business where they get it from,I'm just buying the game at its fair price.

They are playable. And around the 18 hour mark or so near the end of disc 2 for the 360 version, they come together and you get free reigns.

I have no idea what your guys were talking about before. This game is awesome! I got it Thursday night and just got around to playing it today and I'm already 9+ hours in.

You stop having to button mash shortly after the first area as the paradigm system starts to get really engrossing (so far I'm actually not displeased with the learning curve, it could be a little faster but I've felt like that with every final fantasy game). I also fail to see how this is any more linear than just about any other final fantasy save for FF12 (and 12 doesn't even count). I think some of you guys got way too used to 12's single player MMO system.

I think all the hardcore ff fans are hating it because creators have gone and removed all the annoying(subjective) FF features to make it more fun(transition into/out battles is faster, less monotonousness battles, faster paced battles, simpler stats/gear/leveling, less minigames, less pointless paths, no town, less grinding, less sidequests.) almost to the point its not a final fantasy.... Almost. Some poeple may like these features of final fantasy but realy if you want those go play a previous FF. There is no doupt its a GREAT game and I'm enjoying it thoroughly, its just different to regular FF.

What the fuck?! In just about any RPG, not just Final Fantasies, minigames and side quests are where the real game play is. Epic feeling battles are rarely a bad thing, and towns are where things happen.

But the Final Fantasy series has never really been an RPG line, not in a true sense. Far better for it to have well designed linearity than to attempt to poorly ape something that it is not.

On a side note: totally just ordered an FF1 Black Mage costume. Gonna wear it to Akiba after I get it and we get back to home port.

The linear nature of your Euclidean geometry both confounds and befuddles me.
