I agree that the new games will be targeted at a somewhat younger audience, however at some point you have can objectively say that certain elements are good and others bad. I don't have any specific complaints, but to say that everything can be explained with "we aren't in the target demographic" is wrong.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm not in the target group. I'm 24 years old and the other people standing in line for the midnight release were all, without exception, collage students. There was a line of us wrapped around the Gamestop. Well, if there weren't shops to either side it would wrap around.

[edit] Also, I do understand that the people waiting until midnight for a game aren't likely to be high school students. The sort that stay out late don't seem to be the sort who play JRPGs. What I said in the last paragraph does have some bias that needs to be worked out, but I still stand that I, at least, may be in the target age group.

I know what your saying, but we grew up on them. Nothing will ever be as good as those games are to us.

18 year old's wont like them nearly as much as we do either, they will tell you 10 and 13 are better then 7 and 8.

I'm 10 hours into this game.....and MY GOD THE BATTLE SYSTEM IS SLOW.  Just started chapter 5 and I haven't seen an AOE spell for any of my characters and each is very limited in terms of available attacks.  Hopefully it picks up soon, because this is probably the slowest starting RPG I've ever played.  Also, why are the drops and gil so stingy here?  I'd like to upgrade weapons or sell components to buy accessories, but the drop rate is kinda crap in this game.  

Another thing that's annoying is that only the commando class has a regular attack command....why the hell is that?  A medic is shown to be holding a weapon.....use it, you idiot.  >:(  I also hate the fact that roles are very limited and can only do this or that, which is a pain in the ass.  

Character wise: I like Snow and Sazh, hate Hope and Lightning....curren tly indifferent on Vanille.  Story is OK, but also quite slow.

Alot of people say its slow starting. But almost everyone that finishes the game agrees its a good game. So just keep going.

The battle system IS slow to start, no one denies that. But by the end you will really love this new system.


The characters have some serious growth through the game, I would love to see you say which ones you like or hate after you beat it. :)


Personally, I loved all of the characters. Sahz and Snow are my fav though.
