I heard about this yesterday as well...  I've been wanting to play AC2, but I've got a backlog of games and not enough time to play atm, so I'm glad I decided to wait on buying this one.  Seriously, this is the dumbest idea for DRM I've heard of yet.  I'm definitely passing on AC2 unless and until they implement something different.

I dont mind the anti piracy attempts they have made with things like steam(starting to like it) but this is fucking retarded. Was thinking of buying this, screw that now.

While this degree of control over content you have paid for is definitely retarded, wait for technologies like "onlive" to gain momentum where the game software will actually run on the remote server and just stream you the graphics and basic level interaction.

However, imo hardware manufacturers like Intel/AMD/Nvidia will be great obstacles to overcome for these kind of implementations.
