Assasins Creed 2 - don't buy it - if you bought it, return it

Takeshi:
Holy mother... guess I won't be getting this until something is done about it. I played a bit Assassin's Creed and liked it though it wasn't fantastic. I thought about getting, or at least completing it so I would be ready for Assassin's Creed 2. I borrowed the game at the library, but it didn't catch my interest much.

I like Steam a lot. They should've just gone with installing, activating and playing it. It's been working so far for other publishers so why change it?

Crimson13:
The reason they changed it is simple, it's not only to protect their own games, it's to license the technology to other developers, which they're in talks to do.  Essentially, they want to create a service, but in their attempts, they've fallen incredibly short of expectations.

I'm not one for pirating software, though I used to be.  I tend to purchase games and software that I find worthy, or I use open source.  I was so looking forward to playing my purchased copy of AC2, as I loved the first game so much.  Sadly, i've cancelled my order for the time being, paying a fee to do so too.

Jarudin:
No change today, still can't play.

After reading this, and them dropping the Wii for PS3/360 (because they think sales will be better) Ubisoft is digging themselves a grave, they're worse then Nexon now lol.

Who's nexon? I don't understand the comparison?

Steam IMO isn't that bad. I sort of like it. True, you might get fucked over in the long run, but it's not a bad attempt at DRM done right. It still can't beat a good old fashioned Blizz game where we would buy one disc, burn a few copies and then play a few together and have other buddies trundle around in the other servers until we ridiculed them enough to buy their own copy. I mean, there was a huge enough issue that Blizz actually listened with the no CD methods. (ie: ISO via daemon tools) that Blizz implemented their own "No CD" patch and method for Diablo 2 LOD.
