There are similar threads out there (editing video that is)
I've used alltoavi to burn my anime into dvd's for a while now (mkv > alltoavi > convertxtodvd)

I used the convertxtodvd feature for MkV files but sometimes additional subs and "notes" would appear randomly on the screen not organized as shown in my computer . . . ergo I did the conversion to avi first.

Well I want to burn TTGL, Ive had it on my HD for a while now. . .half of it is in .avi and the other half in .mkv. . .
Im using alltoavi and the audio is just completely out of sync. . . off by like 5 seconds. I've tried all th eoptions in alltoavi and none seem to fix this. I heard about handbreak. . .but it doesnt have much "output" features. . .or not that I see. . .I only see output : mp4 or mkv
no avi.
I was wondering if anyone know other software like it? or a fix for this? . . .BTW its only happening on this files. . .I've done other conversions and they work out alright
 
From what I see bout handbrake is more like a "get your media into your ipod" type of thing. . .and it doesnt do that good of a job.
Im not looking for an mkv editor or anything. . .just simple mkv -> avi . . .I like working with avi files. . .they keep it simple

Get MeGUI.
Demux all the streams, that includes video, audio and subs.
Load avisynth script creator and put the video and subs in, or you can just fire up notepad and DIY.
Encode using one of the xvid profiles, or mix and match your own preference in scratch pad.
If the audio isn't compatible, encode it to a compatible format, mp3/ac3/whatever that goes in AVI.
Mux it back into AVI, using the AVI-muxer also available in MeGUI.
Test the video.

mmMMMmmm is there anything simpler. . .Im thinking about that (cause ive seen other programs) but doing all that stuff (scripts, profiles mixing) manually. . . Im trying to set is as last resort. . .

thats why i love alltoavi. . .its just "get this mkv's to avis" "choose framerate, quality" START!. . .done! burn dvd. . .voila.
no hassles.

But the truth is, I'd prefer everything in WMV.

Im trying to conver the eden of the east files to avi.

I already messed around but the subtitles are SOOO SMALL!
I tried changing the font and everything. . .but they keep comming out SOOOO SOOO SMALL!

anyone know how to fix this?

You using alltoavi?
Use my method, everything comes out just fine!

Try format factory. I use that to convert my videos to MP4 so i can run it on my phone. It doesn't always work for mkv but it's a lot faster.
