Sure.

Meo: Hes running a business.. don't ask me.

He shouldn't be making decisions about technology if he uses that kind of terminology.

Meo: If you are trying to run a huge business shouldn't you be using software that fits the bill?

--- Quote ---Is there a free one out there?
--- End quote ---
It's called Unix*.

Meo: We're setting up a SAN ISCSI server that wont work unless we use windows, to be quite honest Unix is a pain. And Dad is an idiot.

--- Quote ---If not just tell me the best one so i can go and get the crack for it so he can stop bothering me.

Using cracked software is stupid.  Using cracked security software is even more stupid.  Using cracked security software on a server...

Meo: Well then if there is a free enterprise or at the very least decent free anti virus for 2008 server then i'd be pleased.

Is he using Windows Server on a desktop machine just for the hell of it, or is he actually trying to run a server of some sort?  If the latter, he really shouldn't, because it's going to get owned very, very soon if he's in charge of it.

Meo: LDAP, Active directory, SAN, Clustering. The list goes on.

Don't ask two unrelated questions in one thread.

Meo: If i end up making three duplicate threads i can already picture Psyren corralling the thread to bits.

No, he should hire a sysadmin, or if it's not a large enough business for that, get a contract with one of the companies that does that sort of stuff.

Exactly.  If someone can get things working without having to know all the crap that goes on underneath, they're missing out on important knowledge, and probably don't even know it.

I was being a bit facetious, though.

That will be fun.

No, he'll get angry if you make two threads about the same thing, or you make a thread about something that there are already 9001 threads about, etc.

I can see this discussion is going nowhere, do i really have to explain the chaos that quoting is once it becomes too big to separate who said what, my family problems that led to the specific nature of my post and time constants?

You can close the thread now, ill just ask about my bug problems later.
