FFVII PS3 Remake - Yay or Nay?

<< < (8/8)

TorturdChaos:
I would love to see a FFVII remake for the PS3.  FFVII got me hooked on the whole jRPG genre, and completely changed the way I looked at video games.

I myself would say yes, threw playing many of their remakes I will say they do a good job on them and I think it would be well worth it to see this game get brought into todays graphics. Though I will say adding a couple things here and there doesn't sound like a bad idea, but if they change the story-line the game has just been really messed up. The story-line has to stay intact as it was since that is one of the major parts of why that game was great. Also the battle system really shouldn't be hit to much since with how it was setup the turn based system I still think is one of the best systems for that game. Also it would give the chance for them to add VAs and all that nice extras to the game that didn't quite fit on discs back in the PSX/1 days.

Now though as other said there are many games that would benefit better then FFVII for a remake or a continuation to the series. Take Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, both great games that could use for a continuation or remake. Then we have the Lufia series, it would be interesting to see that game come back from the dead. Also the Seiken Densetsu series with Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2) being another great game. That is just some of the games from the SNES (well minus Chrono Cross from the PSX/1) that made a major hit on RPGs of today. Though the Final Fantasy franchise is probably the biggest of all of them due to it's major fan base.

PS: I so agree that Kefka so owns Sephiroth as a villain. Also I would like to point out that FFVI is still my favorite FF yet and I would love to even see a remake of that to bring it back from the old time.

This game deserves to be remade.

Also, I would like to see Chrono Trigger remade.    I got somewhat pissed when the fan remake of CT was killed by Square.    If they're just going to stop us for enjoying this now 16 year old game as a remake ... well ... they better fucking use their IP so we can enjoy it.

In the minds of Square's management, the DS release was that remake.

DS remakes = fail... Though probaly the main reason is I can't get use to playing anything on a DS no matter how hard I have tried.
