In anime i cant think of an example of anything that would = censoring better.

However off hand in america Reno 911 is a perfect example where the censorship makes it more funny in many cases
Hayate no Gotoku would be another example...

I don't watch many censored shows. The only recent one I can think of is in Bleach around 225-226 which I highly disliked because that was not how it was in the manga. I heard Basquash (Blu-ray) has fanservice cut out. Now that is something that may fall on the good side of things since I dislike most fanservice (mainly the booby-ecchi-kind).

I can't really see any benefits of censorship for me personally, its just an annoying hinderance and I have to keep asking everytime an ecchi series released whether or not its censored.

Personally I say that it isn't the censoring itself that is the problem, but the fact that fanservice is such a common method to draw an audience. It adds nothing to the show, it is uninteresting and boring, often formulaic and it just keeps getting more and more in your face.

And ofcourse the saddest thing is that fanservice sells, so it is only gonna intrude more and more and ruin good shows.

good shows don't get ruined by fanservice, cuz in good shows, fanservice is subtle, flowing, and doesn't stab your eye candy, it's just there, wether you notice it or not is your problem, and if fanservice is a problem for you, stop watching fanservice, and continue on with the show, l seriously don't understand why ppl can't just watch the damn anime without looking for :
-fanservice
-crap
-duds
-breasts
-religion
-hidden intentions

if you do one or more of the above, you miss the most important part : drama

Oh yeah, and there are shows like Nanoha that would definitely benefit from some cutting. So yeah I suppose I do like censorship.

Depends on the type of censoring for me. Pixels over boobs is a no no for me. Pixels over anything really just pisses me off. Not just for nudity, but in gore scenes like Umineko no naku koro ni. The one bit of censoring that angers me the most is what I like to call 'Barbie Censoring'. Basically when they show the character completely nude, but they are missing all the essential parts that make them nude, thus making them look like a barbie doll. And last but not least the unintentional censoring. Basically where the nude parts are covered with bits of hair, a thin string, a passing cloud, spa steam, bits of clothing, etc. It's frustrating, but can add to the tensions sometimes.

Sometimes, however, when they censor things by completely leaving them out of the story then it can become beneficial. I loved the Fate/Stay Night visual novel, but honestly I could have done without the crappy fanservice, hentai scenes that were later left out when they ported it to Playstation. They added nothing to the story, took the characters out of character, interrupted dire events, and generally just sucked. If the scenes were packaged separately from the game then I wouldn't mind so much, but including them in the game was a stupid thing to do.

l like that kind of censorship, it excercizes your imagination, l don't understand why you want Nanoha censored ? l watched all series and there was nothing to be censored, dunno if there is some censoring, the stuff l watched was enjoyable enough.
