Prefer the censored versions?
« on: March 22, 2010, 01:39:01 PM »
I was watching the first episode of the uncensored Princess Lover and well I think I like the censored versions better. The uncensored parts do nothing for the story...

I agree that sometimes the censorship adds to comedies. An example being Kodomo no Tokei. I don't know what was behind the censor images, but I doubt they would make me any more.

In other cases, like Girls Bravo, its just stupid.

but what it has to do with the story ? not script but if the story in both progreses no problem, but if it's some bits of script that are bothering you thats your problem really, story has utmost nothing to do with censoring or uncensoring as it just goes on, but the pantsu part for example is just a script error, or translation mistake, wichever it is, censorship has no impact on story whatsoever.

Still prefer uncensored.
And if censorship is the only option, I prefer mosaics over nearly entirely cut-out or blackened areas.

Kodomo no Tokei
clock/time? ???

A child's time. Its a comedy about an elementary school girl with serious issues who wants her teacher to bone her.

Its also the title of a H-anime, but thats not what I'm referring to.

Jikan* (not Tokei, which might be an obscure rewrite for time)

I prefer DVD/BD versions and uncensored, simply because the actual censoring can be so ridiculously annoying sometimes. They don't just cut out the scenes in many cases, but add some kind of annoying gimmick that ruins the entire show.

I've never seen a censored version of anything that was better than the alternative. I've seen some where the censorship doesn't make any sense though. I know that I'll look for an uncensored version first, if available.

In anime i cant think of an example of anything that would = censoring better.

However off hand in america Reno 911 is a perfect example where the censorship makes it more funny in many cases

I guess I couldn't say that the censored version is better, but I prefer the censored version so I can watch without looking over my shoulder. :|

I can't even watch Queen's Blade.. or more to say, perhaps it's not my kind of series.

After Rosario to Vampire 2's censorship, I've sort of avoided censored material (except H of course).

This too. I used to download for video size. Now my first priority is source.
