Up Comming Lan

Hello ello,

im off to a 24 hour lan this friday (FragFest)

any whos. i was wondering what would be some good games for 4+ players (please note internet connectivity is realy poor) things like cod:mw2 are a no as steam hates this internet connection (and is realy hard to play when no one has the same game)


so any posts would be appretiated

My personal 4 player LAN game is  Borderlands. Perfect for cooperative LAN and also Face off LAN. It is however limited to 4 players

Supreme commander is fun on lan.

Unreal tournament (not the newer ones).

Random new RTS with crack so you can spread it around.

Best is probably wc3 with lots of mods. Can easily last an entire lan.

Demigod was a pretty fun LAN game.

I'd second Borderlands, diablo 2 and UT.

If you're interested in diablo 2, but tired of the same old skills/gameplay, i'd reccomend Median XL a great mod that replaces all of the skills, pretty much re-works the game.

If you can get everyone's computers to run Diablo 2... (out of all my friends that LAN i'm the only one who can't get it to work for some reason...)

+1 for Borderlands. That game will suck you in. I've gone two overnight LANs in a row now where i start playing that and we don't stop until we can't see the screens anymore (last LAN we played for 12 hours straight, it was 1:00 in the afternoon when we stopped playing).

I have had a Borderlands LAN that lasted from 16:00 hours to 5:00, with a pizza break :P. That was too much even for my standards. I have however nearly repeated this many times over (with the help of hamachi)...

My LANs usually compose of:

Warcraft 3 (Lots of maps and mods)
Call of Duty 4
Counter Strike Source
Enemy Territory Quake Wars
Left 4 Dead (1 or 2)
Age of Empires 3

Then depending on people or fads at the time:

Dawn of War
Borderlands
Demi-god
Battlefield Series
Supreme Commander
Sins of a Solar Empire
Dugeon Siege 2
