Experiment have seen collisions!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, and the tevetron isn't as powerful either. The LHC is the fastest with the Tevetron in second place.
Making a black hole isn't really that big of a disaster. They just evaporate. People seem to think that a black hole is this massive hole in space-time when in reality can be a small hole in space-time. Its not like one could devour the whole planet if one was made. Thats just something doom sayers like to talk about. If you want to start talking about doom, talk about the US economy and the health care "reform".

Microscopic black holes can evaporate if hawking radiation theory is correct. It likely is, though. If for some reason he's wrong, the black hole will gravitate to the center of the planet, consuming mass, getting larger. Eventually killing us all after a couple years. Even the loli's.
However, I doubt he's wrong. It's the perfect solution the the black hole entropy information paradox.

If I was going to be worried about something, I'd likely be worried about the LHC creating stranglets.

We'd quite literally die in the blink of an eye if one is created. But that's less likely than a black hole deciding not to evaporate.
Scudworth:
what I worry about is humans existing long enough to colonize space thus continuing to survive even after the sun expands swallowing the earth.
But then I watch the local news and realize that it's not likely for mankind to survive even the next few thousand years. It puts me at ease.

I don't suppose there's already a disaster movie about it?
