Death Note question (spoiler!!!)

(1/2) > >>

ltorrent:
Some time ago I've watched Death Note and I thought that I've catch all the logic of plot but now I'm in a doubt about the reason why it was Rem to kill L not Misa.

Misa had shinigami eyes at that moment and Raito could easily use her to get known L's real name. And Rem knew that. So why Rem have killed L herself casing death of herself instead of forcing Raito using Misa?

Chef:
He wanted REM dead, so the best way to do that was to make him have to save her. REM didn't like him, so he knew his use of Misa would be limited if he constantly had REM guarding her.

It's been awhile since I watched the show too, but I think that's how it went. It might have been that they just couldn't figure out his name, or that Misa was being watched too closely all the time. Would have to rewatch it T.T

ltorrent:
Sure I thought something like this... Just don't want to re-watch all the anime now...

I understand that Raito wanted Rem's death. So he might sent Misa a little far away to put Rem into situation when she have to kill L and herself. But it seems quite obvious that Misa just after eyes exchange with Ryuk was to run to Raito and say L's name to him immediately. But she didn't. Why???

Tiffanys:
Well, if you're going to ask what-if's, then why didn't Light just wear a hidden camera and have Misa sit outside and just kill everyone off as he walked in one day? It would've solved all their problems. It wouldn't even have to be done like that. Light could've wrote most of the names himself and then just had Misa use the hidden camera to kill L as soon as Light saw him.

Chef:
I disagree, Tiffanys. I think the anime was well thought out enough that it doesn't have huge loop holes if you're paying attention. The situation you propose would be extremely suspicious... I mean everyone working on the Kira case but him and his girlfriend die? His goal isn't to be a mass murderer, his goal is to purify the world as much as possible, and he only decided that some good people would have to die for a better world. I think it makes sense that he wouldn't want people to know who he is and thus he wouldn't have to kill legions of people who hate him, or worry about being stabbed in his sleep. In any case, you need to figure out when Misa made the second deal... I remember there being a lot of stipulations, and that we were never asked to suspend our disbelief except to accept that a Death Note and Death Gods exist. That was what made the series such a pleasure... It wasn't unfair to an audience that wanted to figure things out before the show revealed them.
