Kaichou wa Maid-sama
« on: April 04, 2010, 04:43:32 AM »

AniDB

Quote
* Based on Fujiwara Hiro's Kaichou wa Maid-sama! shoujo manga serialised in LaLa.

The romantic comedy centers on the student council head named Ayuzawa Misaki who despises the mostly male, slovenly population at her school, which was once an all-boys school. However, Misaki's most handsome schoolmate just discovered her secret — that she works afterschool at a maid cafe.

Yet another amazing JC.Staff show !

I've watched the first episode and it was brilliant ...
Reminded me of Skip Beat !

I'm Defnitly going to follow this one

Yeah this had a pretty great first episode.  Misaki reminds me a lot of the main female from His and Her Circumstances.

I'm not really jumping up and down because of the maid stuff (not my thing), but I think I'll give this one a few eps before trashing it. Kimi ni Todoke has managed to interest me to Shoujo anime. Although expecting such brilliance from this show....

Although initially watching this since Eclipse is subbing it. ;)

*checks ANN*

Not bad, it's even got a manga.....in the first post..

l actually found some time around to watch the first ep, a typycal story of family debt led her to this work, kinda cliche, but it was driven nicely around the clock, the series itself has a nice artwork as well, animation is dynamic instead of static, l like it, think l'm gonna follw this series.

Edit:
judjing from the way OP goes, he will be persistent with his request he made at the end of the episode for a while and she will stubornly deny it, altough he won't make a big deal out of it, he does have a point, she won't be held resposible for what she does outside of her school time, more so since she still has time for studies, this will be a very entertaining show l think.

Nice to finally see it animated (and having time to watch the first episode). Somehow the atmosphere/mood in the anime is different from the manga, not that it's bad or something ;D

I'm slowly losing faith in Eclipse's quality ;_; Although I only spotted two mistakes the overall quality of their work has decreased recently. There are always minor mistakes lately...

noticed that as well, there ought to be an explanation to this, beats me what it is, it's not a big issue for now, but if it continues it will be a problem, however Kimi ni Todoke was ok, and they will do the S2 as well, lets just hope it will improve and it's just a temporary setback :]

I wonder about that statement... after your non-stop mistakes...

How will you know that they will do S2? Did you ask them? Did they announce that they would do it even before the S2 has been announced by the Japanese? Stop your ridiculous speculation...

Enjoyed the first episode (yeah, seemed Kare Kano-ish), but we'll see where it goes, since I'm told it doesn't end up anything like it.

Sure...

FYI: they also confirmed months before Railgun aired that they're going to sub it.

Was anyone else a little confused at episode 2? Did I miss something? Wasn't she supposed to be Usui's personal maid or something? It felt like I just watched an episode from the middle right after the first.

She is, kind of. He said he wants her for himself meaning he won't tell a soul that she's a maid.

Ah I guess I interpreted that as she was going to have to do what he said for a day or something like that. Makes more sense now. Still was kinda weird that they just jumped to a school festival on the second episode.

yep the second episode was great too !

the only thing that's I'm not sure of is that

why doesn't she want anyone to find out
that she's working part-time as a maid ?

she says it'll ruin her reputation as a student council ... how so ? ???

No one would take her seriously anymore. I think working part time is fine but as a maid is probably not very welcome.

yeh, since she works so hard not to drop her grades even tough shes working as a maid in a cafe, l think thats quite admirable of her, but she already had a small breakdown with her continues drain in fatigue, as far as this is just an anime show, l'm quite sure there are ppl that are working multiple shifts and still attending schools/unversity's and their stamina is in danger of all this fatigue.

to her shes probaly worried more wit hher reputation as it would go down the drain, no one would probably respect her anymore, and the schools teachers would most likely oppose something like this.

l really do wonder how it will go, altough the 3 guys that discovered it by mere chance (altough l hardly belive it was by chance) are enjoying their time admiring her, so l think it wouldn't be all that bad, and probably the cafe would have more business :D
