Micharus:
Got a new pc the other day... well mostly new.

New stuff: case, motherboard, cpu, ram, video card, 2 HD's (1TB & 500GB both SATA)

Old stuff: 3 HD's (1TB (sata), 500GB & 160GB (OS) PATA)

Had hoped to move OS to new drive.... didn't work and I messed up the drive where I had all of the setup files (for other programs) by making a stupid mistake.

Luckily I managed to retrieve a lot of files from that drive, including most of the anime I had torrented from BAKA.

Unfortunately, I lost some of the anime that liked, so I'll have to re-d/l them.

It's probably a good thing that things went haywire, everything is a lot neater and a darn sight faster than it used to be.

Now to work out what I need to d/l again.

New PC's... fun and frustrating at the same time.  ::)

Ummm yes, yes I did.

Lets just say I lashed out and bought some really nice gear, I won't need to upgrade again anytime soon, with a bit of luck..... I'm just having a gripe about the dramas I've had to go through with moving info between the old pc and the new one.

Oh yeah, virtually brand new DVD r/w burner (3 months old) turned up it's toes and died on me..... I'm currently running a CD burner and a DVD rom drive.. both are at least 2 years old and were stored in anti-static bags. Both are working perfectly! <3 <3

Those i7s really know how to churn butter, the older quad extremes are nowhere near the i7s.

Takeshi:
i7? Does they contain 4 core processors?

That'd be extremely handy for some fast high quality encoding. Currently I'm stuck with one core since my new Dual Core apparently won't work properly.

I still remember when I got a new laptop some months ago. For the next couple of days you just want to use it and explore it 24/7. ;) download demos and see how much better it works than your old one, fill it up with some good stuff and tell everyone about it! :D

How exactly would you go about doing that? Using an image of your drive? Just moving setup files to the new computer? ??? that's bound to fail.
