Well practice makes perfect they say.
But what I first noticed is that they don't really have a story. Aim, point, goal, whatever.
What are you trying to tell with the video?
I say make a plan before you start to work on it. Write it on a piece of paper. Just get it down. And think it through. Ask yourself why do I want just this cut here? Why does this part have to be from this particular anime? Why this particular scene? Then leave it over night. And look at it again next evening. If you still agree about everything with you from the yesterday then make it if not, change it and leave it over night again and look at it next evening and so forth and so forth.
Here are two AMVs. Make mental notes.
FirstSecondNow first thing you probably realise are the extra effects in the second but it's not nearly all. Look at the timing and choice of scenes. They match the music pretty closely. You use pop songs which makes it a tad harder in that regard but I think you'll manage.
Only way to get better is to put some effort into it.
And of course, make more AMVs.
Don't forget to post them here then!
