Screenshot taking free software needed
« on: April 10, 2010, 01:12:19 PM »
Hi, I recently adopted a torrent. In the midst of reformating it, I could find a free software to do my screen captures.

Anyone have an Idea ??

For video screenshots, your video player should be able to take screenshots (otherwise consider using one that can).

For desktop screenshots (which you should not be using to take video screenshots except for certain reasons), just use the PrtSc button, open up an image editor, and paste.

Thanks for the swift response. Althought I kwo VLC takes screenshots, but I don't want to pause the movie, take a screenshot, witch might not be relevant....

I Know i'm picky but I know there's something that take multiple scrrens of the video at a designated time (like every 6 seconds) and convert them into an image format to let you choose afterwise....

I'm afraid you'll simply have to make your screenshot-taking session separate from your viewing session, in order not to impinge on your viewing pleasure. MPC-HC does have a collage feature that takes a few screenshots and turns them into a collage, but we'll need more than that in a torrent description. And I don't know of any programs that will do that: take separate screenshots automatically at predetermined intervals. Perhaps someone else might.

Simply skip to random points in the anime with the seek bar and take screenshots, taking care to avoid spoiler scenes. That's all.

ffdshow can take screenshot in frame intervals. Don't ask me how the heck it works tho, I've never messed around that much with it.

MPC-HC uses the Alt + I shortcut to take screenshots at source resolution (Anamorphic isn't taken into account, iirc), and Zoom Player uses Alt + F for the same.

You can configure KMPlayer to take screenshots at intervals.
