For it is English they didn't make a kara. I mean this English is quite comprehensible, iirc. :)

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

You gotta have characters like the guard to abuse them, right?

That guard or in episode 2 the orphanage lady. These characters (or the way they are drawn) are needed for such a show. They openly show who the viewer has to hate.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Well, the reason has been relativized with this revelation in this episode. This episode made me think what the real reason is. What I disliked about this episode was the first half about the obligatory friendship behind bars. But well, they probably had to bring that once.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Epic episode. Though I do wonder if it was worth getting beat up for; what Mario did. They would've beaten him no matter what, and now Bro will have more problems now that he's taken action.

Not too mention the state of his hand, I cringed at the scene...

Is it just me, or has there been a lot more whining and crying in this show than it should be necessary?

dunno if you get it yet but they all are there for a wrong reason IMO, and
You gotta have characters like the guard to abuse them, right?
thats exactly the reason why they look like that, to show tha tthere are worse ppl in the world that those tha tare already behind bars, if you watched Higurashi second season where Miyo's childhood is revealed (the orphanage) it's ppl like that that should be behind bars, or worse, l'd give them death penalty, seriously, l can give crap about abusing the adults, but abusing children is simply the worst crime a human can do (of curse anything worse that simple abuse is worth 10K deaths)

l don't understand why our species enjoy abusing ppl like that, l think us humans are the sickest creatures in the whole universe.

all six of them are because they stood up and defended someone in one way or another, ofcurse after the war courts took a lot quicker way to quickly deal with more dire problems, but it's all fault of the system, personally l would give all of them a medal of honour.

This series is pretty good but parts seem overly sentimental that border on being saccharine and the evil characters are way too simplified and over the top to warrant much authenticity. That's just my impression from the first half of this series. Definitely watchable though and the main friends are quite endearing.

It's because Saizen and Frostii are quality groups; simple as that.
