That's cool. Almost makes me wish I needed it.

Lol, yeah, for some reason people tend to use the cube in Compiz as "proof" that Linux is bad ass. Its not very useful and I found it lose its appeal as eye candy very quickly. There are so many other useful things I don't understand why people care about a Spinny Cube of Not-so Awesome.

I used it a lot. Mainly to divide attention when doing multi tasking. For instance, one side is random surfing, one side is hw, one side is a movie (generally in the middle) and I rarely use a 4th. It's a useful tool to layer your "alt-tabbing" but that's about it.

I use multiple desktops as well, however the cube itself is not useful. I have my set up so if I move the cursor to one side of the screen and right click it goes to the next side of the cube. I'm just saying that having a rotating cube isn't useful, I use it constantly. I rarely have fewer than 2 desktops in use.

I disabled that aspect and put a hotkey so that "super + left/right" would spin the cube. Having the cube spin when your cursor hit the side was damn annoying. Like I said, I only use it to stack alt tabbing or to organize clutter. It's useful to have a single word doc on one desktop and websites open on another when you're doing research. Easy to fly over to the page to do the writing instead of alt-tabbing through a stack of crap to find the word doc underneath. That's about the only "good" use for it, but I like that option. I can also have the webpage stay on top of the "stack" instead of changing the order of webpages and searching through the stack to find it again. (I really am not a huge fan of tabs in browsers)

??? I had to enable that. Plus I have it so I have to right click. I can't remember a single time where I would try to right click the extreme left or right of my screen.

In any case, I very much wish Microsoft would implement this feature natively. I can't imagine its hard in comparison to the rest of what they do.

What feature? Extended desktop or desktop cube?
