ARTE airing Ghibli - Request for dubs

The European arthouse channel ARTE is airing Ghibli films, dubbed in German, French and Dutch. I can't receive ARTE, but would give an arm and a leg for anyone that could supply me with the Dutch dubs for Nausicaa (aired today and last week) and Princess Mononoke (airing tomorrow).

Don't get me wrong: I prefer the original Japanese audio, but my kids don't speak Japanese. Help me with this and win my gratitude forEVER!

P.S. I only need the audio. Best quality available please.

i'll try to record it on my hd, but i can't make any promises whether or not it will work (especially with dutch audio).
Nausicaa has a rerun on tuesday, maybe i can get that too.

Alright then, the one month you get for free, just for trying. I can give gratitude in spades, but I don't know if I'm up for extended periods of exclusive commitment. Is it okay if I still see other mods?

Just throwing it out there, but even if you DO get the audio, I don't think it will do you much good. You want to swap the audio, but that's not so easy when you have video from DVD and audio from TV. I'm not saying it's impossible, but if the TV had commercials, that would make for maybe 0.5 seconds +/- from the video after removing them. You're much better off getting both audio and video from the same source.

I don't think ARTE will have commercials. I also think it is less hassle to retime the audio to a reasonable video source than it will be to ask blubart to make a decent encode just to satisfy my yearnings. But thanks for your suggestions. I'll just hope he succeeds in getting them and then figure out the details later on.

bad news. i got the transport stream recorded perfectly fine but it seems like there is only french and german included in it. at least that's what the tv menu suggests. i'll take a second look into it on thursday, but the chances are next to zero.

Darnit. Our TV guide said it would be dubbed in Dutch. Maybe the transport stream is different with different companies? I'm out of my depth here really. Nevertheless, thanks for trying at the very least. Thank you very much.

Since you are talking about ARTE maybe it's ARTE. In Germany, I know they air bilingually (kind of), French and German. Maybe it's the same in the Netherlands? Dutch and French. And thus different secondary audio lines.

I suspect this to be the case. SO if anyone who lives in the Netherlands reads this, and feels inclined to help out: please do. There may be more Ghibli screenings and I would especially like to see the dubs for Mononoke and Nausicaa.

Arte is also available in Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland via cable.

ARTE over satellite is only bilingual (french and german), even ARTE HD.
