Pitching an idea for a game

This game actually came to me in a dream and I've been spending a little daydreaming time here and there brainstorming ideas for it. I think it'd be pretty fun. So, here's the basic idea:

I'm thinking of a battle arena type game with heroes in 3rd person, sort of like a fighter game with intricate combos and defense etc., but controlled with free roaming like God of War. Ideally, it would be multiplayer, with team matches like Dota with your team roaming around in a large jungle arena (or other maps as well) seeking out the other team. You can pick your character class before each match, like an assassin (climb on trees, high attack, very low hp bar) and berserkers (doesn't have a mini map, very high hp, high attack), etc. It'll be realistic (as far as it can be) in that you will die after being stabbed by a sword in vital areas, etc. I was also thinking of a kind of leveling system in game for developing attacks and such during a match, but haven't come up with anything practical.

Sort of rough idea, what do you think?

if there is free roaming would there be a encounter system for this game, meaning do i encounter you as an enemy see a very quick load screen and then its just you and me duking it out. Or is it going to be diablo 2 style where as long as you have the ability to kill ppl turned on and they do to you can walk up and start nuking them.

If its the later of the 2 then you game is already done 8 million times over but its called an MMO.

Having a mix of a MMO style run around and kill npcs mixed with either FPS style 1v1 or small team combat or fighting game style 1v1 might be interesting though

I assumed there were no npcs.  But in that case, leveling up doesn't seem to make sense, since whoever is good will just do better against newbies.

Your game sounds a lot like Team Fortress 2, you should give that a shot if you haven't.

team fortress would be the idea, except instead of tps, it'd be more like third person fighter...
