4th gen iPhone prototype found in bar?

As per our previous discussion, you owe me. :P
I've never been a fan of the iPhone really. Though, this new old school nano looking one seems pretty sweet.

My only problem with Apple is there self contain system. You have to go through apple for ANYTHING. If you need a repair well no one can fix it but an apple tech. If the battery doesn't keep a charge anymore. Oh you need to get a new phone since you can't switch out the battery. The biggest thing is that it doesn't work on the verizon network. I have been with verizon for about 4 years now I they are the best in my area. T-Mobile sucks really bad when it comes with 3g coverage. AT&T has great speed (they have faster 3g speeds then verizon but less coverage) Now Sprint has the fastest connection of them all since they are using 4g (up to 15Mbps down I believe. I can be wrong) but they have the crappiest phones on the market.
So my pick is with verizon because 3g is everywhere in CT. Now there have been talk about the iphone coming to verizon but not sure if that will work out since verizon has there own tech repair service. Apple wont allow another company to touch their product. Even if they do get the iphone not sure if I would get it anyways.

Well actually, Verizon themselves are at least partially responsible for the iPhone not being available with them. It's because instead of using the industry-standard 3G, they insist on being the odd one out and using CDMA, which requires completely different hardware than 3G does... basically, it means that Apple would have to produce a separate CDMA model of the iPhone if they ever wanted to offer it with Verizon service. Somehow, an engineering an entirely separate model for a single carrier isn't so attractive when they could switch to other providers with no hardware change at all...

Verizon also uses GSM as well of CDMA. There newer phones can be unlocked to be work on other carriers networks

3G isn't a "standard" it's shorthand for Third Generation, there are both CDMA and GSM 3G networks both are standards.
The only changes to the iphone to work on CDMA networks would be the radio and some software, not a major redesign.
GSM is popular in Europe, CDMA is popular in North America and Asia, level of popularity does not make something a standard or not a standard.
