Sad news, without his work (if you think it was good or bad), Macek played a big role in bringing anime to the masses.
I got into anime because of Macek's Streamline picture dub of Akira and enjoyed many of the other titles (Windaria, Castle of Cagliostro, Fist of the north star, etc..) they brought overseas while I was growing up.
