Clans are a joke. I'm not sure about the PC because there are few games that my POS can actually play. So console wise, I know of maybe three or four that are actually decent and are good sports.

clans more often refereed to as teams in online FPS games now are actually quite useful in PC games and if you are very good can result in you and fellow teammates becoming sponsored from very little things like servers or a ventrilo to big things like computers and trips to lan events.

Largest scale of this would be the likes of john fatality wendal or w/e he has a bunch of shit through creative. and i think team 3d may have gotten something as well. There are teams sponsored by the likes of mountain dew red bull etc etc.

Or companies like evga or DFI

Ah. The closest thing that the console has is GameBattles.com which I believe can get you sponsors for console clans but it's pretty rare.
