Something I heard Grim about anime.
« on: April 24, 2010, 09:01:38 PM »
I was helping my step sister with her bridal shower plans today along with my friend, Well her father comes up to me and looks at my phone for a moment, and started blabbing on how much crazy stuff he heard about anime. I asked him for one of them, Lol you wouldnt believe this...

: Underneath Anime is a cult of people and shows that worship the devil, its obscene and young people along with old should avoid it at all costs to avoid hell or death from the cult:

Seriously? Who the hell do you think starts bullshit lies like this, Anime is the heart of japanese animation. Just like Nicktoons, Cartoon network, and disney are for Americans. American cartoons nowadays are worthless piles of junk, yet no one says crap like that about it. Must of been one rasict F-er.

Nah, he just doesn't understand. I remember being told the same thing about D&D when one of my middle school teachers saw us playing. Just an overreaction to something they don't understand.

If you ain't a person with 'normal' interests then you are evil and going to hell. :P

I love the disillusions some people make up for things they do know about. Its like food. How can you say you hate a certain meal when you have never tried it before?

People make me lulz.

This reminds me of a comercial they had on a radio station I listen to at times, It was a preacher talking about how Avatar is a film from the devil and then he goes into like a one minute talk about how he supports media and has like 5 vivos and 7 flatscreen tvs but Avatar is evil. It was quite funny how some people can go so far over such small things.

Yep, I've heard this often.

They also said this about Heavy Metal.

It is the easiest argument to use that needs no fact behind it since it is completely personal opinion whether it is shoved down the persons throat due to media or religion.

Yeah, I got my first D&D books before I could even read.

One thing I've discovered, is that pastors, preachers and whatnot, tend to be the most openminded about religous topics, as well as having well founded beliefs. They are some of the only people I can actually enjoy having a religous argument with.

I will agree with you on that for the most part, but I still find ones that are quite locked up and crazy with belief and if it doesn't suit there ideas it is not of god and will not be of them type. They aren't as common as people make them sound but well you still run into them.

I don't remember pokemon ever talking to me. Especially since they only speak their own names.

I couldn't watch more than a few mins of that video, it was just too painful.

its because just like any other really religious person, there are some who are open minded and understand that they may not be able to prove everything but they believe in it completely because thats what they do. They dont force their beliefs on you, or question yours they just do their own thing.

In contrast there is fundamentalists who often do batshit crazy things in ANY RELIGION.

The batshit crazy ones are WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY YYY LESS in numbers then the even remotely normal ones.

Problem is the 1% of batshit crazy ones are way more entertaining so they get airtime
