uTorrent problem
« on: April 30, 2010, 09:52:13 AM »
Hello! I am a new member at bakabt, and i really like this site and appreciate all the work you are doing with it. So i would like to stay here a long time, and keep my ratio normal so i wont get banned. So, thats why am i am making this topic.. I have recently downloaded the torrent One Outs which is 7.14GB and all i've uploaded on it is 653MB and it stopped.. Once it was done dowloading, it stopped uoploading too. Is this normal? Isnt it supposed to keep uploading even after the torrent is 100% downloaded? It will be kinda hard to seed when it is like this.

I appreciate all answers, and i apologize if this is already in he FAQ questions, or if there already is a thread about it. I looked, but couldn't find anything

yes. it's supposed to continue uploading after you have finished your download BUT only if there are leechers on the torrent that want data from you. In the case of your One Outs torrent there is non - thus no upload for you.

Oh, okey. Thanks for the help

I am now dowloading Eureka Seven, and it have 176 seeds and 19 leech. My down speed is 1.2 mb/s and my up speed is 1.2 - 1.5 kb/s. Currently the torrent is 52% done downloading, but it says i have 0 b uploaded. Is this weird, or normal? I am sorry for these noobish questions, i just dont really know much about this stuff and want to do what i can to not get banned since this site is something ive been looking for a long time xD

You won't get banned for having a poor ratio. You just get a warning. When you have a warning, you simply can't download.

Where does it say you have 0 up?

If it's your client, that's not right. Be sure to check to make sure that's the stat on the individual torrent, though, since you'll always have some global up/downloading going when the client is running, though usually no more than 500 or so Bps.

Now if it's the site that's showing 0 upload, you're probably ok and just a little impatient. Stats usually don't show up on the site immediately.

On the page i have about 600 MB uploaded, but thats not from this torrent. Im downloading Eureka Seven as i said, and it says ''Uploaded: 0B'' in the client. I am using uTorrent. Would like to get this fixed or a answer or something before i get a warning.. My ratio is terrible now. Downloaded 15 gb, and uploaded 600 MB. And the torrent is still just 61% with 0B uploaded

Here is a screenshot so its easier to understand

Looks normal to me.
I've had similar experiences, look at the seed to leech ratio.

Ahh. It started uploading after it was done downloading, strange.. I thought it was supposed to seed while downloading xD Anyways, it stopped completely seeding when 226 MB was uploaded. Is there a limit on how much you can upload on each torrent or something? :S

also make sure your firewall isnt screwing you over XD.

al so looka t the seeders and leechers.

you will find that all the newer torrents will have lke 2-10 seeders. and a few leechers. but if you think that this will be a populare torrent. chances are other people will aswell. and the sooner you get on the band wagon the more you will be able to upload. if you get what im saying.

also. lets say you download a torrent back from the dinosaur ages. with no leechers. did this tracker have a like  a 72 hour seeding befor your clear? and you cab stop seeding?

no biggy for me.... FREE UPLOADS WHERE I AM! And i seed till there is no romm left

Not really. Seeding for even one second at 1.5 kBps should net you more than 0B uploaded data. Interesting.

Seems like it's resolved now though, I guess. It's not very clear.

relooking at it. the 1.5 kb would be chatter.

your client sends information asking for pieces, making connections, closing connections and so forth. check to see your ports are forwarded  properly

What's the logical conclusion if no one is leeching? Keep SEEDING until someone leeches............ ................... ................

May it be days, weeks, or months, keep seeding. Just keep seeding!

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

You could always just use a *coughpublicpasskeycough*.

 ;D

But you should try and do some 1080p torrents as they're freeleech. Or get stuff that's about to get granted and jump on it when it's available to you regular users. Popular stuff will still need nicely for you.

I am having the same problem.
It's not a problem.

I'm not having any trouble seeding at all... I can max out my upload constantly.

Right now these are all actively seeding:

(click to show/hide)

The other's are queued seeds since that's all my bandwith. :P
