I feel your pain ... You were in the wrong guild, probably. There are guilds that don't care so much about raiding and they go in there to have fun. Some guilds with leaderships that don't understand if you want to be a serious raider and knock bosses quickly, you gotta be on your A game and the other 9/24 members need to do the same. And then you got your hardcore guilds led by smart commanders and officers with smart players.

Hmm probably, we were like semi serious guild, not up there with the elite guilds who like force their members to play all the time/have ridiculous internet/computer speeds, but just below that. Our 25 man had a few people who weren't that amazing which let the team down but that was only a couple of nights a weeks, our 10 man team was pretty good and we cleared 10 bosses in not that long a time.

I think playing just as the raid came out wasn't that great as the longer its been open the better gear people had and the easier it got, also we didn't have the 5% boost until near the end of my playing (what's it on now like 20%? :D) which meant loads of wipeing and drilling in tactics as there was no room for error most of the time. It was fun feeling elite but the monotony soon overruled and other fun I was having. But yeah next time i'd join a more fun guild that only raids a couple of nights

Also I wasn't that keen on the pvp which was probably an error as I was so used to diablo2 pvp'ing, ie teleing around rapeing everyone who comes near you and it just didn't compare

Back when I was playing, all we had per week was ToC

Clear ToC25 earn gdkp points and triumph , go on to clear ToC10 for extra badges ( This was before welfare T9 ) and then login next week, rinse and repeat.

Our problem in our guild is we do have "clickers" and some slow people. The clickers are very fast and long time members (smart members too). The slow people, we notice them and replace them. The thing is, we don't kick people out (lol yes we're not hardcore) and we raid about 5 nights for 25 mans putting in 3-4 hours. We're 9/12 heroic icc 25 with 11/12 heroic icc 10 man. Progression wise is good. Then you've got your smart members who are insanely good (god-like!) so really it depends on the leadership.

If anything, look for a leader and officers that understand what it takes to make a guild and to progress. Soft leaders and officers end up failing doing progression raids. There are people out there that don't mind wiping sixty thousand times on a fight they've done countless of times and downed the boss. It all comes down to management. If you have your leaders and officers and that do press progression AND influence other people to do the same, PLUS recruit and keep skilled players then that is the guild you want to join. If your officers don't really care or don't show any type of work to recruit or influence others or keep "pausing" around then yea, that's a fail guild.

We don't use DKP or any of that stuff. One token and one epic per night. Usually it is a roll off or it will go to someone who can benefit from it the most (and is a core raider, of course).

I'm currently taking a break from the game until Cataclysm comes out.  I was in a US Top 35 guild for the past few months, and still am, but I can't raid 7-12 every day of the week during progression nights while having school, a job, and still hanging out with friends.

Clicking won't get your very far.  I dare someone who clicks to do a fight which you can't do with yours eyes closed and the 30% buff carrying most of your raid.  Can you say Heroic: Halion 25?  GG @ 4 WAY DEATHBEAMS LOL

I prefer a loot council for guilds that aren't full of skilled players, so the tool who keyboard turns, clicks, dies to stupid shit, and pulls piss poor damage doesn't gets an upgrade over you.  Otherwise if you're in a guild who know what the fuck you're doing, I would prefer DKP since everyone is almost equally skilled.

Try going for a Tribute to Insanity every week on 25 heroic (with appropriate gear level of course), then tell me if you actually experience end game content.

No one has beating Anub on heroic 25 on our server. We have two insane guilds, like Vodka and Paragon but they didn't down him either. We tried him and got him to flipping TEN percent. We had some undergeared people (including myself). Man, I missed so much content... I left when we were doing that 2D and 3D dragon.

About Halion, we downed him the first week he was out. And from there we never did him on Heroic. Reason? Our MT (and guild leader) keeps getting in the beams and "we needed more practice". We needed a new tank on him for Halion heroic 25. We could have attempted him long ago. Now it's like too late. New patch is going to be here soon things won't go as smoothly.

So yesterday sucked for me. Only two shards dropped. :( Lol. WTB 21 more shards and I'm done with the Axe.

This shit just refuses to die, huh?

For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

Then your server is pretty bad...  If no one has killed Anub 25 Heroic yet and with higher gear (lol 264+) then you're raiding with idiots.  The last phase is the only hard part of the encounter, and now with higher gear levels, it's retarded easy.

Halion normal was a complete joke, it's almost as easy as most ICC 25 HM's with 30%.  My old guild killed it the first day it came out and there were a more than a handful of terrible people who wiped the raid to whatever reason.

I was really lucky with shard drops because I got at least 5 or more a week. I remember getting 8 shards three weeks in a row.

We're an RP server. The two guilds I mentioned were Zodiac (Alliance) and uh... I can't remember the other one, it's on Hordes side. They both usually end up ripping bosses faster than any other guild.

About Anub 25 heroic, even thou the server is geared like hell. Anub 25 heroic is still one of the hardest bosses the last time we checked.

We're an RP server, just so you know.

We've had skilled members come and go and well it pisses people off like me because their skill play is top of the line. If I have to count the skilled players in our guild, I'd have to point to about 16 or 17. They leave for either obvious reasons or because of guild related issues (elitism and they cause drama usually).

Clickers can get away in PvE, but they're no match for keybinders and PvPers. Pretty much a fact.

Not much to do for me until December 7th.  All I plan on doing is farming heroics until I reach enough badges (around 360) to reach the cap for Justice Points (4000).

It'll be quite exciting to start anew, in a new expansion that is practically changing the entire game.  This time around, I am playing with 4 friends, so we'll be having a good number of LAN parties over the weekends.

We all play on US-Kil'jaeden.  It's an excellent server.  Fairly balanced Horde to Alliance ratio, which is a huge plus for me.  World PvP is abundant and happens every night.  There are quite a few high tier raiding guilds, along with some very skilled PvP guilds.

I main a Priest, usually Shadow.

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Kil%27jaeden&cn=Aleous

The gear isn't the best, since I stopped raiding after the Plague wing was open in ICC.  I prefer PvP over raiding anyway, so it's no big deal.

Since the new class/race combos will be available before the release of Cataclysm, I may race change to a Gnome.  It's a hard choice, since Dwarfs are fantastic.
Dwarf in the flask, Homunculus.

I quit for like a week now. I just log on to do dailies and do raiding and some PvPing. I'm watching Anime and fixing my website in the meantime. Well, the site is up and running I just need one more thing to be done.

Anub isn't that hard....
People should just not fail on the snow and the adds should get interrupted on the teleports.
And use bubble/Warlock teleport to eat/kite the spikes when he's submerged.
So a warlock shouldn't have much problem with the kiting.. And if you have a paladin.. Anyone can eat some spikes long enough to stall time for his submerge phase.

Zodiac is the top guild on our server couldn't take him down. They down bosses, if anything, a little slower than Paragon. We've done Anub 25 heroic as much as we can and well we didn't have enough time for him when we killed LK 25, we focused on ICC heroics from then on. We're 10/12 in heroic ICC. With Saurfang and PP on heroic 25 down, all that's left is Sindra and LK. But well, I doubt we'll beat LK before Cata comes out.

Videos are listed in my Youtube channel. Check my signature.

The guild I was in sort of just turned it's toes up and died over a period of time.

I'm waiting for Cataclysm to come out and then I may start playing again on regular basis.

I plan on buying Cataclysm anyway, mostly because I have the first three and the 'set' is going to be worth *much* more if I have all of them if I decided to pack it in for good one day.

FYI, no, I'm interested in joining a guild again, I probably won't be able to perform to 'standards' despite having some decent gear.  ::)

I was looking for a wow thread and I guess i'll post my question here.

i'm trying to get into raiding, and it seems like the only thing people want to do in trade talk is ICC.  How do you get into a low level raid? other than getting lucky that 9 others are also looking to get into the same raid on trade talk.

Are you new to Warcraft? Do you PvP? We're recruiting (my guild is). It depends on how skilled and experienced you are in raiding.

I just started playing this summer, and haven't done any raids yet.  I'm almost at the point where I have to start raiding to get better gear.  I'm definitely still learning but I am decent.  it's hard to know how well your doing when your doing an instance where people are putting up 5 ~6 k dps, and I can only get as high as 3k when i'm doing well. usually about 2 ~ 2.5 k.

The name is Sanatarium.  and I haven't PvP'ed yet either but I hear paladins are monsters at it.  send me a letter in game if you are interested in raiding together.
