--- Quote from: Yohan7 on November 14, 2010, 04:16:53 AM ---I just started playing this summer, and haven't done any raids yet. I'm almost at the point where I have to start raiding to get better gear. I'm definitely still learning but I am decent. it's hard to know how well your doing when your doing an instance where people are putting up 5 ~6 k dps, and I can only get as high as 3k when i'm doing well. usually about 2 ~ 2.5 k.
The name is Sanatarium. and I haven't PvP'ed yet either but I hear paladins are monsters at it. send me a letter in game if you are interested in raiding together.

First thing is don't depend on gear score. That's rubbish shit most end game guilds don't relay on. Second thing, to be a serious raider you need to understand your class before anything else. Do you have the right and required spec(s) for raiding? Do you know what healing/dpsing/tanking is? Have you done ANY raiding at all? (5 mans don't count)
Lastly, I'm going to tell you to visit this website and look for your class. I would not recommend to join the forums at all. They are jerks, elitists and will ban you without warning. Just read the threads about your class. This is where the best of the best hangs out and where everyone goes to learn about their classes and what not. It's all mathematical stuff and some weird crazy ass formulas. They do everything from your lag input (computer, connection) your human response time, the rotation your putting in, execution your perfuming and so on and forth. It's very very deep.
Yohan7:
I have been reading material on my class, and feel confident I can raid decently. I looked at the website and found lots of good material.

I checked some builds online and picked the best one.

yes, you can't even do any instances with out knowing the differences.

no. I'm trying to find an easy way to get into them, with out having to get into a raid intensive guild.

Refer to the website I mentioned from above. It will help you understand your class a bit more deeper. As blunt as I have to say this, you gotta do some deep researching. I think you've saved yourself a lot of time if you go to Elitist Jerks. I don't know what build you have and I don't know much about other classes other than warriors. Right now, people don't feel like doing any raiding since Cata is less than a month away from release.
Do you play with keyboard only (keyboard user/turner) or do you use the mouse as well? Do you PvP? Even thou' some people don't like PvPing. You cannot fight the fact that PvP players have higher awareness and response time than your regular average raider.
Yohan7:
I play with the mouse/keyboard. but it sad that no one wants to raid right now. :-\ I guess everyone will want to in a couple of weeks though. I guess I'll just keep training until then.
zat0x91:
Make sure you don't keyboard turn, as in, using a and d to turn around, rather than holding down mouse2 and moving your mouse around.
