Special A by CitadelofTheRaven

Baka-updates.com list COR as having just finished with Special A and I was wondering if anyone had those files and could upload them. By the way are these Dual Audio files, ANIDB has no listing for COR for this series?  I would only want them if they are indeed Dual Audio files.  Thanks everybody and have a good day.

Well, E-D is nearly finished with the series (encoding 13-24 right now), so a comparison with COR is in order.
COR did release some extras (in this case clean OP/ED 1 +2) as usual, don't know if E-D will release those.

And no, there's no dual audio release.

Edit: downloaded episode 1 to compare with E-D (there's an AniDB entry now...  ;) )

E-D: 720x480 (anam. 16:9), H264 23.98 fps (~1700 kBit/s), Jap 2.0 AC3 (224 kBit/s), SRT + VobSub
COR: 720x480 (anam. 16:9), H264 23.98 fps (~1200 kBit/s), Jap 2.0 AAC (~70 kBit/s), VobSub

Special A wasn't dubbed, that's why the releases aren't dual-audio. E-D looks better on specs, and those screenshots show some blurring/loss of detail in COR. That, plus the vobsub issue, put things in favor of E-D.

@nightswallow:
There shouldn't be a conflict, since Bakawolf-m33w's are fansubs and E-D/COR are R1 subs.

Got any old fansubs on HDD/DVD/CD? Please take a look at this thread.

How does E-D & COR compare to the BakaWolf-m.3.3.w release already on the site? http://bakabt.me/141469-special-a-01-24-h-264-m-3-3-w.html Would either of these replace the current one, or be an additional B category?
BakaWolf-m.3.3.w: 1024x576 (anam. 16:9), H264 23.98 fps (~755 kBit/s), Jap 2.0 AAC (~58 kBit/s), SRT + ASS/SSA

Problem with COR is that they don't know how to update (encode). They still use x264 build 532, which is very old and when comparing it to the latest builds, its output looks pretty shitty.
In other words, if there's another group like arigatou, e-d and such doing it, it's best to wait for them. Not that E-D looks so great for this one, looks like they smoothed too which caused banding, but they have more detail than COR does.
