tenchi muyo in avi/mp4 format
« on: May 11, 2010, 05:06:47 AM »
does anyone here know where i can find any or every episode in AVI or MP4 format?
and before anyone can read me the riot act of why mkv is a better container.. .i know that already.

it's just that my PS360 doesn't seem to acknowledge that format. ..and i'm kinda not wanting to watch anime on a tiny 15" laptop screen.
so if anyone can help me out. ..i'd most appreciate it.

thanks.

Check, e.g., zion.otaku-anime.net:555 (it's DC++ hub) and other OAN hubs.
It seems they have almost everything in avi format.

You could also look into methods of converting the .mkv files to the container of your choice.

And I'd think 640x480 anime would look better on a small laptop screen than a huge TV, but that's just me.

Got any old fansubs on HDD/DVD/CD? Please take a look at this thread.

Allow me to give you a better idea. Connect the laptop to your TV using a D-Sub connector (if it's an digital LCD TV) or by using a VGA2Video converter (you can buy one for like 50$). That way you can keep using the high quality .mkv and still be able to use your TV.

What you are trying to do right now is kind of counter productive. You don't want to watch a 720p, for example, on your laptop, so you are looking for a 480p to watch on your TV. Now, your TV is larger then your laptop monitor, so you are looking for something of a smaller resolution to watch on a larger screen. That is not good.

Considering you have a PS3, your TV most likely has a D-SUB connector as well, so just buy a D-SUB cable, and connect your laptop to your TV. Don't forget to thank me later.
