Asian stuff that you can't live without :3
AntiPaladin:
Most of the rice we Americans eat is actually grown in the US, so not sure if I'd count that one as an Asian thing.
On a similar note, while California also produces a massive amount of sake (especially Hollister and Berkeley) I find most of it inferior to the real stuff from japan - they haven't had enough time here to cultivate a good yeast strain.

Fun Fact: Sake (酒) is actually a blanket Japanese word for 'alcoholic beverage'.
If you mean alcohol brewed with rice stock (which you likely do), you mean nihonshu.
If you walk into a bar or restaurant in Japan and said 'gimmie some sake', it'd be the same as saying "gimmie some alcohol".

I have heard stories about the Seirogan from my Japanese teacher before.
They were made during WW2 for the Japanese soldiers.
It was made to solve problems when eating food they are not used to...

I'd have to say my house is my most important asian thing
